"Anne! Are you there?" mum shouted.

"I'm up here mum!" I shouted. I tried to wipe my eyes so that when she came up she wouldn't see any tears. I heard her running up the stairs.

"What happened? I got a call from school saying that you had ran out of class."

"I don't know what happened to be honest mum. Kyle was talking to me and I was getting so angry and all of a sudden the windows shattered. It was me mum. I know it was me. I just don't know how it could have happened."

"Listen honey there's something I have to explain to you. You might not like what I have to say but you have to listen to me. Okay?"

"Okay, mum. What's going on?"

"It is about your father. You see he was a wizard. In the supernatural world there is a war with the witches and wizards fighting against the vampires. Your father was a fighter in the war. He was a good and brave man. When we met I was twenty. We fell in love and then I had you. We were all happy together for about a year after you were born but then the vampires came to kill your father. It turns out he had killed the leader of their army. He managed to buy me enough time to get us two away but in the end he wasn't strong enough to fight all of them and they killed him. The reason you managed to shatter the windows in your classroom today is because you're a witch. You got your powers off your father."

"Yeah right mum. Don't lie to me. Wizards and witches aren't real."

"Honey I can assure you that you are a witch. If you need proof then I will call Professor Carlton. She will show you some magic and then you will have to go with her to learn to control your powers. You will need to learn to control your emotions so your powers won't react like they did today. It's too dangerous to let you go back to school when your powers are still out of control."

"Mum I don't have any supernatural powers. I know that I said that it was me who made the windows shatter but it couldn't have been. I was just upset and angry about before. It was just a coincidence. There is no such thing as magic. I know I love reading about it but I know that it's not real and I think you have to have to get that in your head."

"Fine then. I will just have to call  Professor Carlton and have her come here to show you her powers."

"Mum. I think we need to take you to a doctor. You just sit down and I will call someone to come and help. Okay?"

"I am not crazy. You will listen to me. Go and pack your things and get ready to leave."

I couldn't believe that she had just told me to pack my things. It wasn't like I was going anywhere. I mean it was all in her head right? I went and got my things anyway. I felt really worried for my mother's sanity.
