Here's a short flashback story on how Davison Smith and Christian Rivers met:

---

It was the first day of college, and Christian Rivers was nervous. He had always been told he wasn't good enough, that he was weak and unworthy. But here he was, starting fresh in a new place.

As he walked into his psychology class, he scanned the room for an empty seat. That's when he saw him - a boy with messy brown hair and a bright smile, typing away on his laptop.

Christian slipped into the empty seat next to him, trying not to draw attention to himself. But the boy looked up and caught his eye.

"Hey, I'm Davison," he said, his smile warm and welcoming. "Welcome to the wild world of psychology!"

Christian felt a flutter in his chest. No one had ever greeted him with such kindness before. "I'm Christian," he replied, his voice barely above a whisper.

Davison nodded. "Cool, Christian! I'm glad we're in this together. I've heard this prof is tough, but I'm sure we'll survive."

As the class began, Christian found himself stealing glances at Davison, who was engaged and enthusiastic, asking questions and participating in discussions. Christian, on the other hand, felt like an outsider, unsure of himself and his place in the world.

But Davison didn't seem to notice. He just kept smiling and including Christian in the conversation, making him feel seen and heard for the first time in his life.

As the class ended, Davison turned to Christian and said, "Hey, want to grab coffee with me? I need a caffeine fix after that intense lecture!"

Christian hesitated, unsure if he was worthy of friendship. But Davison's kind eyes put him at ease, and he agreed.

Over coffee, they talked about everything and nothing, laughing and joking like old friends. And for the first time in his life, Christian felt like he belonged.
