I check my watch for the 20th time in the past 10 minutes, waiting for the hand to reach 5- the most anticipated of the day.

My foot impatiently taps against the hardwood, eyes trained on the heavy, stainless steel wrapped around my wrist. What seems like seconds turned into minutes, 5 approaches and I let out a sigh of relief.

"Yuki- cover for me will you?"

With an exasperated groan, she refuses. "Again? It's friday...we're busy!" Though her voice is muffled, I don't miss the attitude in her tone.

I roll my eyes, bending down to lift a heavy box filled with many novels and setting it on the counter with a hard thud. In a hurry, I push and glide a dull box cutter smoothly through the tape.

"I'll get you some coffee on our next morning shift."
I mumble. It's the only way.

I hear the door to the break room swing open, and a lean, feminine figure emerges from it like a shadow- a smug smirk on her face. She teleports behind my shoulder, observing as I take out some books, many of romance; Which for some reason the owner is most invested in.

"Coffee you say?" I don't pay any mind to her, noting every title book cover. Her blonde hair swooshes over my vision and I sigh in annoyance. "Yes." I move over to avoid her lack of personal space.

"Promise?" She cheeses.
I only hum and nod my head.

"Greaaat! I'll clock out for you."

"Mhm."
Caffeine addict.

My fingers carefully tread over a certain book- I've read it before; Two unstable young adults living as neighbors that just so happened to grow closer.

This book was never in my style of reads and definitely still not my usual- but is it (Name)'s? Probably.

I'll get it for her. I think she'll like it.

I quickly check it out before setting my name tag under the counter.

"Put those new arrivals where they belong, Yuki." I place the cardboard box behind the register, leaving her to do it. "You're the boss." She remarks, sarcasm dripping from her tone.

And after grabbing the black cap left on the coat rack, the doorbells chime to signal my leave.
