The trace of a vision lingered in her mind as streaks of light filtered through the blinds of her bedroom. The memory of an unknown person came back in flashes when she eventually awoke. A shy young man stood, surrounded by towering figures. Even without any context clues she knew from the boy's body language that the men weren't welcome. She also recognized the alleyway where the young blonde male was standing, it was close to the pub she worked at. She supposed she could pass by there today and if she had any luck the vision she dreamt of would be one of a very near future.

On these thoughts, she rubbed her eyes with her open-palmed hands and tried to rid herself of the morning's grogginess. Another day on land meant another series of visions but what could she do about it, Teyvat had bestowed this gift upon her and she had to make peace with that. The ability to see the future felt more like a curse than a blessing in y/n's books.

She left the comforting warmth of her bed, lifting the covers and slowly planting her feet on the ground. A boring day of errands was waiting for y/n and she wasn't in any hurry to get started. She slowly got ready, slowly changed her clothes, and as slowly made breakfast for herself. When she finally left her house, she headed towards the market to look at fruits, vegetables, and all sorts of fresh food products. She walked with no hurry in her steps, taking in her surroundings and admiring the scenery. She loved Fontaine, from the contagious joy of the citizens to the astonishing beauty of the many lakes, rivers, and oceans. Simply being here brought a feeling of freedom.

Y/n wandered around only to find herself in front of a flower stand. She let her eyes linger on the daffodils, her favorite flower. Whenever she needs to calm herself, she imagines herself alone lying on a bed of daffodils. A daffodil was the last flower her mother had ever conjured for her. It was coincidentally the very flower that was often twirling around the tips of her fingers. She liked the smell, the nostalgia but also the meaning of the flower. It symbolized rebirth and new beginnings, something she had sought after. However, it was also associated with loneliness, a concept she was very familiar with.

She realized she had been standing in front of the flower stand for a while now, looking frozen while staring at yellow petals. Y/n tore her eyes away from the sight and continued walking with a slight hurry in her steps. It felt as if she was trying to get away from something that wouldn't leave her alone.

Eventually, she walked towards a familiar building, a well-known pub in the area. Before ultimately heading inside, she decided to continue walking to see if by chance those thugs would be there already. She doubted the vision she had of the young blonde boy would actually be realized today but there was no harm in making sure. Imagine her surprise when she turned the corner heading towards the alleyway and witnessed the same exact scene she had dreamed of. She mentally patted herself on the back for not having been lazy and for having come check. Y/n cleared her throat in hopes that the group of men would turn their attention towards her but they were too busy threatening the quivering boy they circled.
She sighed and raised her voice.

"Excuse me? What do you fellas think you're doing? Why don't you guys go against someone your own size?", she yelled at them.

A group of heads turned in her direction as she began slowly walking towards them.

"Who do you think you are?!" One of them yelled at her, spit almost coming out as he yelled out the words.

"Walk away pretty and we'll pretend we didn't see you! How about that sweetheart?" Another thug told her.

She almost gagged as the usually endearing nickname fell from the man's lips.

Ew, she muttered under her breath.

"No can do my friend, so I'm asking nicely would you please let this young man go?", she tried to be as civil as possible but she suspected there was no use in doing that.
