Old Love

7years had passed since I’ve met Venice. I still fully remember how we’ve met way back in 4th grade.

~I’m running away from my classmates, as we’re playing Tag and Roy, one of my classmates being the tagger. When I suddenly bumped onto someone. A long wavy brown hair swayed in the air as she falls backwards. Thankfully, I’m fast enough to caught her right hand ‘so smooth’ I thought as soon as my palm touched hers. I felt like the time suddenly stops as soon as our eyes met, it feels like destiny as I helped her get back on her foot.

“VENICE! Are you ok? Are you hurt somewhere?” A short haired girl yelled panicky as she run towards us. ‘So, her name is Venice’ I thought not letting her hand go still staring at her eyes. “Venice! Do you hear me??” The short haired girl asks Venice when she got near us.

Venice and I broke our eye contact “S-sorry for bumping onto you. I-I got to go!” I hurried back to my classroom as I felt my cheeks and ears burning up ‘Why Am I blushing?!’ I asked myself as I head straight to my seat. ~
I sigh heavily while smiling as I hanger my newly ironed white polo and black pants when I suddenly saw the jar full of Monami candy on the table “Monami” I whispered to myself.

~ “Hey! Jimmy! Look at these candies I bought earlier!” Venice yelled as she runs towards me “You should be careful Ven! What if you tripped and hurt yourself!” I said to her with my voice full of worry “Why are you so worried Jimmy? If I ever indeed tripped, I’m pretty sure that you’ll catch me again just like 2years ago when we first met!” Ven said in a wide smile.

“Anyways! Look, you need to taste these candies! Their so tasty and sweet!” Ven said as she showed me a piece of Momani candy “Yeah, they're probably sweet” I said while smiling at her ‘But your smile is much sweeter Ven’ I thought to myself as I stared at her. When the bell suddenly rang as she pulls out more Monami Candy out of her skirt pocket “Here! Eat this during class secretly so you won’t fall asleep! Make sure to not put this on your cheeks nor bite it or the teachers will notice!” She said as she runs back to her room~

I pull the top drawer of my bedside table taking out a perfectly black box containing a necklace with the yang symbol as the pendant. I smiled as I remember who owns the yin necklace
~” HEEEYYY JIMMYYY!!!” I heard the yell from a familiar voice causing me to turnaround looking for the one who owns the voice, then I saw Ven, waving at me. I waved back as I smile to her ‘She’s beautiful as ever’ I thought as I walked towards her “What are you doing here near my school Ven? You do know that Aunt Marie will you since you commuted here on your own and I’m sure Aunt Marie will also scold me for letting you go commute alone, right?” I asked Ven and she just smiled naughtily “Who said I came here alone hmm? I came here with my best friend!” Ven said in naughty tone “Oh yeah? Then where is you “Best Friend” hmm?” and quoted the word best friend “Are you implying that I don’t have other friends other than you?! She’s over there!” Ven said as she pointed on the girl with black medium straight hair buying some fish ball from the street food vendor. Ven and I start walking towards the girl she pointed out earlier, when we got closer to the girl, Ven tapped her shoulder causing the girl to turn around “Oh! Ven! You’re here already! You want?” the girl asks Ven “Thanks, but no thanks girl, I’m still kind full from our snack earlier” Ven refused the girl.

“Hi, I’m Jimmy, Jimmy Enrile, also a friend of Ven” I introduced myself to the girl as I put my hand in front of me waiting for a hand shake “I see, I’m Shelly, Shelly Montero” the girl said as she shakes my hand while smiling at me “So you’re the guy Veni girl is talking about?” Shelly asks as she squeezed my hand hard.

“Huh? Ven is talking about me?” I asks as I am truly confused. Shelly is about to speak but Ven suddenly covers her mouth “Huh? Talking about who? You? Pshh, no way” Ven denied as she waves her other hand to me, then she looks towards Shelly and widen her eyes, and for some reason Shelly suddenly nodded her head slightly to Ven and Ven releases Shelly.

“Girls and their Girl language” I whispered through the air while shaking my head “Huh? You said something Jimmy?” Ven said in threating voice “Oh you’re threatening me now Ven? How scaryyy” I teased. When Ven is about to hit me, we suddenly heard a rang coming from Shelly's direction “Sorry I’ll just answer this” Shelly said and then answered the phone. “Veni girl we need to go, Aunt Marie is looking for you” Shelly said to Ven “Aw, what a bummer” Ven said while pouting.
“Fine let’s go Shelly” Ven said and grabbed Shelly's hand and walked away from me, but then Ven suddenly stopped and turns around facing me “Jimmy catch!” Ven Yelled a little and throwed a black box. I opened the black box and saw a Yang pendant. ~
I put the Yang necklace on and then sprayed some Acqua Di Gio by Giorgio Armani, then fixed my collar in front of the mirror then sprayed some cologne again “Wow, Brother Jimmy! Looking handsome today!” Julian complemented me as he leans on my doorframe while crossing his arms.

“Oh, so you’re saying that I’m ugly yesterday?” I fake angry asked Julian while raising my left eye brow “Ey! Chill bro, if you continue to tease me, I will not help you later with big sis Ven” Julian fake threatened me but I just shakes my head and starts to style my hair “Seems like it is true” Julian said “Hmm?” I asked in a hum “That Love can indeed change someone” Julian said smiling while shaking his head “I got to go bro, still need to prepare the booth” Julian said and walks away.

I’m currently at the school currently walking towards the “Incognito Love Letter Booth” as my class owns that booth. “Hey Jimmy!” Nathan greeted me as soon as I entered the booth “Hey Nat” I greeted back “You can go and take a rest, I’ll take over” I said to Nat “You sure Jimmy?” Nat asks “Yeah yeah, I’m suree” I assured Nat “Okay then, oh and remember to dim the light” Nat said before he goes out.
After a few minutes I saw a familiar figure entered “20 pesos for writing, additional 20 pesos for delivering since it’s going to be hard to find someone today and additional 10 pesos if with flower” Trish said to the familiar figure “Writing and delivering only” the familiar figure said ‘Wait, I recognize that voice… It’s Ven’ I thought I was about to speak but then, Ven walked towards me and handed 40 pesos ‘W-who? Who is she going to confe- ‘

My thought was cut when I heard what she said after “Please deliver it to Jimmy from 11-Crysantimum” Ven said and walked out of the booth. As soon as I heard what she said I felt my whole face and ears heat up “M-me?” I whispered forgetting that Trish is still here with me “Oh~? Looks like Jimmys little crush also have a crush on him, eh~?” Trish said in teasing voice “S-shut up Trish” I said as I unconsciously covered my face with my left hand “Oh~? Someone’s blushiiing~” Trish teased again but I didn’t bother to reply “Well, since you’re already here, and the one your little crush wants to send this letter to is you, might as well give it to you now” Trish said and handed me the folded paper that Ven handed her earlier.

I took the paper, as soon as I took the paper Nat entered the booth “Hey guys, your most handsome Nathan is back” he announced in a singsong voice “Huh? Where?” Trish teased Nat “Ihh Loveee” Nat said while pouting “Don’t pout Nat, you look like a chickens butt” I teased as I walked pass him “JIMMYYY COMEBACK HERE!” Nat yelled but I just laughed at him and continued to walk.
I sat on one of the benches near the gymnasium and took out the letter from my pocket.
