"The fuckboy said what!?" Sol spitted to her face in the mirror as she was braiding her hair, she had clearly some things she wanted to yell to Leon after what she had told Sol happened last night. She really didn't want to be in a room with both Sol and Leon, God help us all then, but they would soon be.
After Katlin ran out of the hallway, she was ashamed to have tears in her eyes, and she hoped Leon didn't see it. She had dried them away and went to meet Sol, of course she didn't see Leon after that, or she didn't remember it, after their nice little talk she had poured down a bottle of wine, or four. She couldn't quite remember.
"Dang, was I that drunk? Because I didn't even realize you even left me, I thought you was standing next to me all night." Sol made a grimace of disgust and regret, which only means, "you told some guy some shit you were supposed to only tell me?" Katlin managed to burst out laughing as poor Sol slowly nodded her head in disgust. "No wonder why that kiss felt so, hairy." Katlin couldn't help but laugh even harder, and Sol joined. After some good five minutes they came back to earth.
"After this I will make sure he won't say stuff like that ever again," Sol had a big temper and was always a little too honest, so she knew she meant it. "No Sol, I don't want to mess this up even more than it already is," Sol sighed and tugged at her hair she was currently braiding into a hearth, "ouch" Sol only tugged her hair to stop her temper to roll over, but that she rather chose violence for satisfaction, Katlin never understood. "Sorry, it's just," she took a long pause before saying, "I will miss you; you know, you will be going alone to wherever he is taking you guys." Katlin couldn't explain it but her saying she will miss her gave her some hope, and she knew she will miss Sol even more now. Katlin turned around in her chair to face Sol, she was already wiping her cheeks, and that was enough to make Katlin cry too. She raised from the chair and embraced her dearest friend; it was as if Sol was the one marrying a cruel man. They stood there, silent tears running from their eyes for a few minutes, then Sol pleaded, "if he is anything like his brother,
run."
Katlin hugged her tighter as if she would be ripped away by a giant hand if she didn't hold on tight enough, "I promise." They finally went apart, and Katlin sat back in her chair, she was only wearing her underwear and a T-shirt. After her hair is finished, she will put some makeup on and then her dress, no one is allowed to see it, not even her father, Sol and Katlin had planned a surprise, and they don't want to spoil it yet. Sol and Katlin were talking about their childhood together, having a great time until someone opened the door, and it was as only the darkest shadows had stepped into the beautiful colorful room. "What are you doing! The ceremony will start in fifteen minutes and you're still not wearing the dress!" they both just rolled their eyes at her father, "Yes dad, the faster you leave the faster I can take on the goddamn dress." Her father didn't even bother saying "oh so beautiful you look!" or "thank you for doing this, I know it's hard for you." Nope, he would rather yell at her. Sol quickly pushed, literally pushed her father out, and Katlin couldn't be prouder. They quietly heard her father demanding them to hurry up, they also heard him cursing in pain from when Sol slammed the door in his face. Sol came back over snickering, confessing, "I always wanted to do that." They both smiled. Katlin took one last look at her makeup and her hair in the mirror before standing up to reveal her wedding dress standing behind a locked door, because as much as she disliked her father, he was right, they were in a hurry. She beheld the dress in her arms, it was horrible, and it was perfect.
...
Katlin was waiting behind the door of the big church, it was an ordinary church out in the countryside, she was hesitant, her bouquet of flowers in her hands would soon be dripping from sweat because in a few seconds, her life will be changed forever. Suddenly her dress was made of rocks, she wanted to leave, now. But she knew she would just be dragged back, and she also wanted them to see her great surprise. She waited anxiously for the bells to ring, she was both begging for them to ring and to not, any second now.
After several seconds of awkward silence. They rang, and it was time to be forever changed.
With Sol at her side, she felt ready enough, then the doors slowly opened, and she took one step after the other until she was face to face to the crowd.
People gasped; some sky rocked out of their chairs.
making them fall to the floor, and some covered their mouth. The whole room became quiet, even though music was still playing. She felt proud, and she felt like an animal in a zoo, but deep down she felt seen,
but woundable.
She was wearing a black dress with feathers, it was strapless with crystal black palettes on her torso, the skirt reached the floor and it had imprinted black roses making her look like she was walking in a puddle of roses she looked like the darkest bride, and she loved it. But she didn't wear white like the traditional, but as the night sky itself, because this was not a celebration, but a funeral. This would be what people would remember her for, and to not look pity on her, they wanted a show, and she would gladly give them one. She walked down the aisle only seeing glimpses of the crowd, her father looked furious though, red filled his face and his eyes told her she would get a very nice punishment afterwards. The church was so beautifully decorated, there were flowers everywhere, and the chairs the crowd was sitting on was decorated with pink ribbons making a path through the aisle to the priest. She viewed Leon, he had a wolfish grin on his lips, he was proud he wasn't marrying a scared bunny ready to be slaughtered, no he was marrying the wolf in disguise ready to kill. The priest looked as if he were to faint, he had never seen a black swan before, good.
Katlin was leaning on Sol, she looked like a swan, but the dress surely wasn't as light as one. She reached her spot, face to face with Leon, and Sol behind her, thankfully. Leon was wearing a handsome white suit, even the jacket was white, so, the black sawn and the white swan. Just both in disguise. Behind Leon was another man, he had curly brown hair with hazelnut eyes, he was shorter than Leon but taller than her. The guy was cute, he had two dimples at display when he smiled, and he smiled a lot. It was also him who was holding their rings. The music died out and the ceremony started. "Bless the beautiful humans who is gathered here today," the priest shouts in a soft voice and takes their hands, the priest looks at both of them with a big smile as he continues, "do you take Katlin Orbey as your lawful wife? Katlin beheld Leons gaze till he said, "yes." His voice didn't give away any emotion. The priest smiled at Leon and changed his focus to Katlin. "And do you take Leon Hames as your lawful husband, to have and to hold from this day forward, for better or for worse, for richer or for poorer, in sickness and in health, to love and cherish until death do you part? Her heart was beating fast, she was ready but now she didn't know what to answer, she felt panic rise over her, and she could hear the deafening silence, just waiting for her to say yes. Her tongue was dried, she couldn't speak, she had to leave. before she could run out of there Sol dulled her back and Katlin came back to earth, she panicky looked back at Leon and said dryly, "yes." It was as if the time was working again, and she could breathe. "The rings please" the priest sang, the guy standing behind Leon stepped forward to give him their rings, and they were gorgeous.
Two big diamond rings laid in the priest hand, with no warning her hand was kidnapped, and her ring was on her ring finger. She examined it, it was utterly beautiful. With Leon wearing the twin ring,
but she remembered the ceremony wasn't over yet, before she could say anything the priest yelled, "you may now kiss the bride!" they both made big eyes at the priest, seemed like Leon had forgotten it too. She had to find an excuse fast, no way she was going to kiss Leon. "I have a mouth ulcer!" Katlin yelled a little too loud, and her cheeks quickly turned red.
She sighed, she was relived, now it was over, but now she was also Leons wife to death does them apart. She was about to walk down the aisle to the party waiting in the next room until Leon grabbed her hand. She was about to pull it back when he whispered smoothly to her ear, "since you wouldn't kiss me, we have to at least hold hands, if not they will get suspicious." She hated that Leon was right, she also hated how nervous she became when he took her hand, she couldn't be such a pussy when they would share the same house.
