|| FRAGMENTS OF DESIRE
"This is such a joke, you really think I would do that?""Who knows, or are you just giving up that easily hm?"
Silence crowded their ears as each of them stared back at each other dangerously. None of them dared to speak first, knowing if they did, it could possibly lead to something much worse.
Then, a laugh echoed.
"...You're terrible."
"Don't worry, I like to be reminded of that."

YOU WEREN'T really fond of strolling around the town after school. The only reason why you found yourself in this position was because of your parents. Earlier, you had watched the boys basketball game with the courtesy of your friend dragging you there, if anything, you were edging to get back home as soon as you could but of course, your mother just texted you if you could run a few errands.
Normally, you'd only find yourself in the main street of your town if you had to go grocery shopping with you mother. Now that you were older, you were allowed to go to farther places from your house, as you lived in the more deindustrialize area where it was more middle-class.
"It's fine [Name], we still got plenty of time till it's dark." Your younger friend tried calming you down as he brought a hand to cover his mouth while he yawned tiredly.
Ever since being in your third year, you purely tried to focus more on your studies in order to get into the University you want, however, back in your elementary school, you befriended a boy that was two years younger than you due to the fact your family used to babysit him, so you two were fairly close. If someone else looked at the two of you, it almost seemed like he was your younger brother.
"I told you I didn't want to watch your friend's basketball game." You replied back sharply, annoyed that you now had to run to the Main Street and get food.
He groaned remorsefully until he puckered his lips like a fish with a laid back expression trying to calm you down, "Mmehh, it's alright, you don't even have that many things that are important..." He placed a hand on your shoulder.
Quickly, you shot back your head and sent him a glare.
He widened his eyes before slowly removing his hand off your shoulder.
"Jeez, no need to be so stingy..."
After walking for a few more minutes, you came to the location of a tunnel leading to the other side of the area where you needed to get your groceries. Upon entering, the walls were covered in graffiti and multiple vandalized areas of drawings. On the top was a main flag of the region, Shishitoren.
"Uh, why are we going in here?" Your guy friend paused at the entrance of the tunnel. Raising a brow, you turned around while holding your shoulder bag.
"Because the ingredients I need are here."
He gulped looking away, "I mean like, why're we entering Shishitoren grounds..."
You looked from side to side. What was he talking about?
It was true that you were not caught up in the Main Street's news and whatnots. Kazuyuki had nearly forgotten that you grew up in the more valley side and ended up enrolling in one of the secluded High school's down the main town area where the infamous High schools were. Of course it was no wonder why you had 0 knowledge on who's territory you were about to enter.
"Look [Name], I really don't think you should go in there—"
"Kazuyuki, I'm just grabbing a few groceries and getting out of here, the one down at Main Street closed an hour ago." He irked when hearing your reply. Small drops of sweat began to roll down his back, he himself didn't want to enter but with the way you were being so persistent, he was bound to leave at any second. It's not like you'd ever no the reason why, unless something happens to you when he's gone.
"Look, I'm not coming with you past this line, I-I'll text you when I get home okay?"
You stared at him as if he was nuts. You noticed the nervous tone in his voice and the way he had stuttered. Soon enough, you replied awkwardly.
"...Okay...?"
"Alright, I'll see you tomorrow!" And then, he began to walk away and scurried to get his headphones on.
