Dear Toru,
If I say that you are the best thing ever happened to me, that would be a lie. But you are the cornerstone of my heart's castle. Without you, it will be down into a million fragments. A life without you has become unthinkable for me.
Till my last breath, I yearn to be with you, and only with you.
Happy 1 year wedding anniversary, Satoru.
Yours lovingly,
Y/n.
┘I reread the words that I wrote, the small smile hanging on my lips getting bigger as I kept reading.
'If I say that you are the best thing ever happened to me, that would be a lie'
Rereading those lines, I couldn't help but chuckle thinking about the possible reaction that line would elicit from Satoru.
He would probably pout, while a cute frown appears on his face and goes into a tirade about how I don't love him enough.
But I could also imagine how his beautiful face breaks into a boyish grin mixed with impishness when he reads the next few lines.
He knows how timid I'm when it comes to love confessions. So I expect the last few words to make up for the hurt I caused him in the first line.
The first line just reflected my sarcastic side. My humour is pure sarcasm and Satoru knows it all too well. But he'll still dwell on it; joke or not.
And I possibly can't give him the fulfillment of hearing that he's the best thing that ever happened to me.
Gojo Satoru, the strongest sorcerer in the world. Blessed with beauty, charm, strength, wealth; everything a commoner dreams of.
His ego is as big as him and his blessings. When the whole Jujutsu world gets on their knees before him, Satoru only lowers his ego for me and for his best friend— Suguru.
Basically, we both hold the power to bring the mighty Gojo Satoru down to earth. More grounded.
I had spent the last twenty minutes writing and rewriting the small note I have been planning to gift him for our first wedding anniversary.
Two days ago, I had discreetly gone out into the heart of the city with the help of Suguru to get Satoru a gift.
I needed his help as Suguru knew Satoru better than anyone. Even better than me.
I'm still learning about his likes and dislikes, but Suguru had full knowledge of it all.
Also, I'm far from a decisive person. I always tend to search for others' help to make decisions for me as I always find too many things appealing at once.
I opened my study table's wooden drawer and took out a dark emerald green box and opened it.
In between the velvety cushions' slit sat a silver band streamlined with a thin line of gold on both sides, and a single miniscule diamond studded on its middle.
The ring was simple, plain, but it held a charm that suited Satoru. Everything about that man was extravagant, but I felt like I needed to gift him something which had a bit of me in it.
And that's what I exactly told Suguru while we scoured through all the options in the jewellery store.
Suguru gave me an eye smile and politely requested the salesperson for the kind of ring I was searching for, providing the man with ample description.
