Chapter.4 Everyone has a vulnerable side
Harri gathered her things as slowly as possible, in hope that she would be able to avoid as many people as possible; mainly Rhiannon. In this newly found silence, it was hard to keep herself from breaking, as she felt the tears forming in her eyes and her throat became dry. She stayed there a while longer before eventually realizing she couldn't stay in there forever, she had to face everyone at some point.
As she made her way out of the P.R.U and towards the rest of the school, Harri could hear an argument going on, one voice she recognized it was Barry's but the other wasn't so clear from down the corridor. Hearing this she changed her mind and started to walk back towards the P.R.U, but once again changed her mind, but as she turned she hit into someone; losing her balance she fell to the ground.
"Shit, I’m so sorry I didn't see you there." Harri said picking herself up of the ground, as she looked up to see who it was she had just walked into.
"B Barry" She stuttered in utter shock.
"Ha-ha it's alright yeah, so where have you been hiding?" Barry laughed, giving her a wink.
"I haven't been hiding!" Harri snapped back at him.
"I was only having a laugh, thought we were mates ay?" Barry smirked.
"When did that happen, us becoming mates?" She teased.
"Back in Byrne's office, when we were both waiting for him to give us that stupid talk about the P.R.U." Barry said still smirking.
"You actually noticed me?” Harri asked shocked at the fact he had noticed her. “So what was going on back there, I could hear your argument all the way down here?"
"Of course I did, you’re not exactly hard to miss." Barry laughed. "Just me and my old mate Jack"
“Oi what’s that supposed to mean?” Harri snapped, she didn’t know if he meant it in a good way or not.
Barry just smirked at her as the bell went for next period so Harri headed back towards the P.R.U with Barry only to be stopped by Mr. Clarkson.
"Barry will you come with me, I think we need to have a quick word; don't you?" Mr. Clarkson said sounding quite serious.
"What for Sir?" Barry asked with a grin.
"The incident between you and Jack McAllister, ring any bells." He replied.
"Oh and Harriet Mr. Byrne wanted to see you, he said it was important." Mr. Clarkson added.
"It's Harri!" She said starting to get angry.
By the time Harri got back to the P.R.U everyone was already seated; even Barry. She quickly took her seat next to him, ignoring everything her uncle had just said to her about staying away from the Barry family. Who was he to tell her what to do?
"Harriet, where have you been?" Miss Boston asked sounding fed up.
"With Mr. Byrne Miss and it’s Harri not Harriet." Harri replied rolling her eyes.
“That’s enough of that Miss Knight, anymore and you’ll be sending your lunch hour with me, do I make myself clear?” She snapped causing Scout, who hadn’t been paying much attention, to jump.
The rest of the lessons seemed to drag on forever, Harri wasn’t the only who was almost falling asleep. Barry kept on kicking her under the table; she could feel herself about to rage at him but tried to keep her cool because the idea of spending her lunch time with Boston wasn’t all that appealing.
