Rescue Time

It worked too well...

The explosion blasted us through the walls and onto the grass outside...

The whole wall collapsed, trapping the Titans below it and the slightly crumbling ceiling...

It was unknown to me whether they were crushed or not... But knowing them, they won't die that easily...

I groan and rub my head. It's been hit way too many times by now, and I'm very dizzy...

Jinx was shakily trying to sit up, and was successful...

Following her lead, I force myself to sit up as well. Sighing, I look down and close my eye to hopefully help with my blurry vision...

"Oh... Fuck... We failed, didn't we...?" I don't know why I even bothered to ask... There was no way we could've gotten the regulator before that explosion...

However, Jinx just smiles...

And starts laughing...?

Has she finally lost it...?

"Jinx...?"

"I got it- Last second... But I got it!" Jinx beams and pushes the regulator out from right next to her...

I was completely shocked... Her leg covered my view of the large box we worked our asses off for... How could I be so blind...?

Wait...

Never mind...

I'm not one to talk with a single eye, slightly blurred vision, and cracks on my mechanical eye...

I shouldn't think so low of myself...

Especially when we finally succeeded for once!

We succeeded! That's what matters... Not the amount of successions prior...

I was so happy we both made it out nearly unharmed...

Without thinking, I grabbed her shoulders and lightly shook her in my excitement...

"Jinx! You're so amazing! Great job!"

I partially regretted giving her a victory hug almost immediately after I had done it...

But she didn't seem to mind it...

In fact, she smiled...

And hugged me closely too...

"You were amazing too, See-more..!"

She pulled away and lightly shook my shoulders in excitement as well...

But everything seemed to stop once I felt a soft kiss on my cheek...

Damn... She really got lost in her excitement to do something like that to someone like me...

Wait...

She kissed me...?!

I felt my cheeks heat up and my broken eye widened...

The shock on her face was immediate... Followed by a heavy blush...

"Oh- S-sorry... I got a little carried away in the thrill of the moment... I'm just really happy we succeeded as a team... Y'know... To rescue our friends...?" She sounded so nervous trying to make up an excuse, it was adorable...
