Currently Jennie, Lisa, Rosé, and Jisoo were in the studio recording songs for their album titled The Album. MinJee had joined them as well to record her own small parts of the songs.
Jennie, Lisa, Rosé, and Jisoo watched her intently while she recorded and were amazed by how well she could sing and even rap. Jennie and Lisa noticed that when she rapped, she had this sassiness and confidence that wasn't just evident in her voice but in her facial expressions as well. Jisoo and Rosé noticed when she sings that her voice is soft, calm, and gentle sounding. They also noticed that she easily was able to project the right emotion into her voice with ease. All four girls were extremely impressed with MinJee so far and they knew that she is a perfect fit for BlackPink.

YG sat down with MinJee to discuss all the upcoming events which included the concept photos for How You Like That and others. After the meeting, YG released an official announcement hinting at the change that is happening to BlackPink and that he was beyond excited and thrilled of this change. The next week after the release of 24/365 with BlackPink, MinJee's Kprofile was officially released the day before the teaser poster for How You Like That was dropped and the fans immediately showed mixed reactions to the news.
MinJee is officially apart of BlackPink.
