Death, an unexpected turn in a humans life. Could be of a person or animal. Any death can shock the world and its loved ones. Death can be accidental and on purpose. My sister's death was on purpose. I know it
Getting older was hard though. My background is not that pretty. My sister and I lived in a rural town in Japan, Kurashiki. In a town that smelled like year old eggs and dead animals was bad enough, but it was worse than that. Even with the plains of Japan, the part where we lived was not that popular. It was dull and no activity here like as desert plain in Africa.
Summer was rolling around, and the smell was up. It was the heat that got to me though. Dehydration was the leading cause of death in our village and by the looks of it, it won't go down.
Remember when I said death is unexpected, it was really in my town. It was 7:30 in the morning, and towns people were just waking up. Cars are rare, normally they drive at 11:00am, but on this particular day, it wasn't. My sister was just about to leave for work and yelled, "Goodbye everyone." She said smiling at me and my family. One particular moment that a car went through didn't pay attention, All I heard was a crash and my sister's body on the road from the window lifeless. "No, no..." I stammered. I ran outside to check how she was doing. She never made it to the hospital in time. Dad and Mom didn't get any better as well. They fought all day and night."Stop drinking so much, you scarring your child!" Mom screamed at the top of her lungs.
"Don't talk to your husband this way, I'm the man of this house" My dad yelled back.
I usually stayed in my room while they argued but the difference was I had my sister near me. She soothed me with her singing or cooed me to sleep, but I fled that night. I packed everything I ever needed for three days. I packed light thought because I was only 10 when I ran away from home. Sometimes, my mind wished I would have at least looked at them before I left but, I was confused back then. Tired and also very hungry, I went to a buss station to take me to Tokyo.
"You're a little far from home kid, you sure your parents aren't worried?" The buss driver questions
"I'm going home." I made up an excuse to get away from my actual house "I'll take a bus ride to Tokyo"
"That's a far drive. You'll haft to pay an 8 hour drive, you sure you're not lying?" He further questions me
"I'll pay, alright?" I insist, trying not to blow my own cover.
"Alright, that'll be 1000¥" He says, very tired voice I remember.
I pay the 1000¥ and I get to a seat. Being a kid who just ran away wasn't that fun either. I had to deal with a smelly buss ride and a person who wouldn't stop rambling to me. When the bus stopped at Tokyo 7 hours and 44 minutes later, I got off. My ass being poor and my money running short, I basically went straight to any house that would adapt me. It got to the point where I was starting to give up, I just slept on the ground after the day out trying to find anew home. Out of no where though I was picked up and transported to a house.
I woke up to a man who looked to be about 26 and his wife being 25, but they say they were younger than that. I doubted it. They told me I could stay at there house and would adapt me. Papers were handed out to the streets of Tokyo and fair enough, it had my face on it. It hasn't even been a full 24 hours, surprised they did this. So I thought, it was another child, but weirdly it looked like me. Damn mind, always messing you us.
The stillness of night, always calming right? Well, you're half right actually. My adaptive family had guests come over every night without telling me. So much for running away. Still though, no warning, one of the daughters of my new parent's friends came up to my room. Let me give you an idea. Look, this was 7 years into the new family and I just turned 17. So, I really didn't have that many friends in my new school. The daughter of one of the family friends decides to go into my bed room, lift off my covers and I'd be cold all night without knowing what happened. Unbelievable. That's my story though, just hope someone love me gets to find love someday, or like a harem.
