The wedding day was finally here..

VEERANSHU'S POV

I woke up early in the morning or should l say l didn't sleep yesterday night. I don't want to marry anyone but for my parent's sake, l have to do this.
I went downstairs
"Good Morning Mummy and Papa"
I said, grabbing my morning tea.
"Good morning Veeru" they said.
I saw Soham my younger brother coming downstairs like always scrolling on his phone. He kept the phone on the dining table and sat beside me "Finally gadha godhi par chadne wala hai" he said while giggling and eating his food.
(Finally, the donkey will sit on a horse)
"one day you will have to do the same," I said with a sarcastic smile.

It was 10 am now. I went into my room and started getting ready. I still don't feel like it's my marriage. I wore a peshwai kurta paired with a dhoti a red stole wrapped around my shoulder and a pheta on the head. It is Maharashtrian wedding after all.
I was going downstairs everyone was ready by now.
My mom came to me. She had tears in her eyes.
"You are looking so handsome my son"
She said while applying kala tikka behind my ear.
"Mummy don't cry," I said and wiped her tears.
"And mummy you are looking gorgeous if papa sees you he will surely faint by seeing your beauty!"I said and winked.
She slapped on my arm playfully.

ISHANI'S POV

I went upstairs and called my makeup artist she said she was there. I went and wore my blouse and traditional navari saree. My makeup artist came to my room
"Let's start with the makeup ma'am "
I just nodded with a small smile and sat on the chair.

After 2 hours finally, my makeup and hairstyle were done.
As soon as l got ready mumma came
"Hayy.. My Ishu is looking so pretty " While saying she applied kala tikka behind my ear and hugged me.
Papa kept looking at me he had tears in his eyes today. It was the first time l saw him in this condition
"My Ishu has grown up too early," he said and hugged me
My sister Nyra came running and hugged me
"Di now nobody is going to trouble after you are gone. I can finally live my life peacefully!"
I felt so irritated.
Do my mom and dad care about me? I had millions of questions running through in my brain.
My So we all left for our wedding hall. All were covering me and hiding so that the groom couldn't see me. I sure he doesn't even wants to see me. Nevermind.
The decoration was so beautiful. It was the same as l wanted at my wedding. But l don't like that groom..
I had to perform Puja. I went to one of the rooms of the wedding palace where l worshipped goodness Parvati for a prosperous happy married life. My mama (maternal uncle) handed me some rice which l offered to Devi.

VEERANSHU'S POV

I was admiring my mom and the way she was dancing wow. Everyone was so happy. It makes my heart feel good. I came down from the horse as my friends were here and started dancing with them. I was the first in our group to get married. Never thought l wouldn't married. After a few minutes, l sat back on the horse and went to the wedding hall.
As soon as we reached the hall l saw her family standing near the hall to welcome us.
Ishani's mother came with Aarti thali and sweets... She asked me to remove my shoes. It confused me. I did what she asked. She bent down and started washing my feet.
"Aree get up mumma what are you doing!?" I asked her with a confused face.
But she didn't move
"It's a ritual beta," she said.
I didn't like this ritual but what can l do now, I have to follow the rituals. Later she applied tilak to my forehead and fed me sweets.
I entered the Mandap and sat at a designated wedding spot. The Antarpat was hung in front of me restricting my vision to see my bride who will be sitting opposite to me. Soon she enters the Mandap, and Pandit ji chants Mangalashtakas accompanied by musicians. Soon the Antarpat was removed we had eye contact. I had to agree that she is looking gorgeous but who cares. We exchanged Jaimala and everyone started to showered us with Akshata.
It was Kanyadaan ritual where her father gave me Ishani with blessings and l had to promise to love and respect her forever.
For the final marriage rituals to commence, a sacred fire was ignited where we both offered grains to the fire chanting three mantras. Ishani was asked to silently utter the fourth mantra. After that,tl her parents worshipped us as avatars of Vishu and Laxmi asked us to tie a turmeric thread on each others hand.
Once the ritual was over Sameera came and tied a knot. The knot of our life for me.
I tied the mangalsutra around her neck and put vermilion on her forehead. Ohh a little fell on her nose too.
"The vermillion felled on the bride's nose means the groom loves her so much" Pandit ji said while giggling.
Ishani and l had fake smiles on our faces throughout the ceremony.
We had to now perform saptapadhi where we said the seven wedding vows encircling the holy fire seven.
Karmasampati ritual was the end of the wedding where Pandit ji asked me to change her name of l want. Ok, so l had a chance to change her name. She glared at me
"don't dare to change my name. I will kill you if you do" She held my hand tightly.
"It isn't even a single day after our marriage and you want to kill me already wow!"
So l didn't change her name.
