POV: Dakoda

"What does it feel like?"

"Imagine being burned alive, while simultaneously having every bone in your body broken and displaced. Then it turns to violence, so much violence. You're looking out through your own eyes, knowing that you're doing everything you see but.. it's not you. You don't have control, at least not the sane side of you."

"How can you stand it? All the pain?"

"You grow numb to it. It starts to feel like a normality. In fact, I can't even remember what it was like before. It's been so long."

"Tell me more, Dakoda. More about what happens after you lose control."

"I move so quickly. One moment I'll be in one place and the next I'll have run miles away. There's so much power and strength flowing through me; it feels amazing but terrible at the same time. That side of me seeks blood.. regardless of who's blood it may be. When he's finished, there's nothing left. There's no stopping until he's been satisfied."

"Hm, you just referred to yourself in third person, why is that?"

"Because like I said before, that's not me. Do you think I want to mindlessly tear people apart?"

"Well that's one of the reasons they're making you speak with me."

"They're afraid I'm more too much of a wildcard, is that it?"

"Amongst other things, yes. They need to know that you're going to carry out the mission without any hindrances. I'm sure you can understand their position."

"They don't have anything to worry about. If I want someone dead then the other side of me will do it as soon as he finds them."

"I'm inclined to believe you and my report should reassure them. Regardless, they wanted me to inform you that you're not going alone."

"What do you mean? I don't need any help. They don't think I can handle this on my own?"

"They have no doubt that you can kill with ease. They're sending someone with you to make sure that you stay focused on the task at hand."

"Fine, but they better not complain if he ends up dead or can't keep up with me."

"That shouldn't be a problem."

"Why is that?"

"Let's just say that he's quite gifted as well."

"You have slight anger issues, don't you?"

The sudden voice jarred me out of my slumber, my eyelids flying open as I leapt to my feet. My senses suddenly heightening as I anticipated the worst.

The moonlight illuminated the speaker who was standing several feet away from me. He was thin, yet athletic. His dark brown hair fell below his eyes in the front but was extremely short on the sides. Through it, vivid yellow eyes could be seen. His gaze was incredibly disconcerting. What was more unnerving is the fact that he kept looking me up and down and biting his lower lip.

"What did you see?" I questioned him, fearing he had witnessed my atrocities. Yet, there was no look of fear or surprise upon his face.

He smiled wryly, "More than enough."

I could not feel any ill-intent emanating from him, so I allowed myself to lower my guard but I remained leery, "Who are you?"

"That's not overly important, now is it?"
