I received a call from my boyfriend (soon to be fiancé) but the weirdest part was he asked me to meet him at an abandoned warehouse.
I rushed immediately as soon as I got that call from him. It seemed seriously and knowing Tae he won't call me to go weird places unless it get's really bad.
Tae has abusive parents who hit him and they are proud of it. I felt hopeless because I wasn't able to do anything but just watch. He didn't want me to help him because he couldn't bear the pain to lose me.
It utterly disgusts me how can a parent who was supposed to love you and support you does that to a child. I had never met them but I made a promise to myself that once I marry him, he will never step foot in that household ever or be this sad. That's my promise to him and I proudly said it while proposing to him.
I parked my car and walked inside the abandoned warehouse loomed before me, a silent witness to the echoes of the past. Standing in its shadows, I saw Tae, the enigmatic guy who had captured my heart. His dark eyes held a story I longed to unravel.
"Show me your scars," my voice was a soft plea, a desire to understand the pain he bore.
Tae regarded me, his expression unreadable. "But why?" His voice was a whisper, carrying the weight of untold secrets.
"I want to see how many times you needed me and I wasn't there," I confessed, my heart heavy with regret.
Tae hesitated, then slowly extended his hand, revealing the scars that marred his skin. Each one told a story of moments of loneliness and despair. Guilt washed over me, knowing I had failed him.
"I'm sorry," I murmured, my voice barely audible. "I never meant to let you down."
Tae pulled away slightly, a mix of emotions flickering across his face. "It's not just about the scars you can see," he said softly. "It's about the ones you can't see, the ones that linger in the depths of the soul."
His words struck a chord within me. I had always seen myself as a beacon of light, but now I realized the shadows I had cast. "I know I can't change the past," I said, my voice filled with regret. "But let me be there for you, to help you heal."
Tae looked at me, his eyes searching mine for sincerity. Slowly, he extended his hand, a silent invitation for me to come closer, to bridge the gap between us.
I took his hand in mine, feeling a rush of warmth and connection. "I love you," I said, my voice filled with sincerity. "And I'll do whatever it takes to make things right."
As we stood there, hand in hand, I knew that our journey would not be easy. But with Tae by my side, I was ready to face the darkness, to chase away the shadows and embrace the light of a new beginning.

Now we are happily married, and I have never seen my husband this happy in his life. I never knew how much a person can change everything for you.
As he stood beside me all I could see was my past, present and future. I gave him a light peck on his cheeks to reassure him that I'm here with him, always.
