.AUTHOR'S POV
Aariz was sitting in his cabin, his face red with a mix of anger and jealousy. His fists clenched on the table, his fiery expression leaving Asher utterly confused.
"Sir, should I get you some water?" Asher asked hesitantly, his tone cautious.
Aariz's head snapped toward him, his eyes blazing. "Don't bring me water—just throw this idiot into a fire!"
"Huh?" Asher blinked, unsure if he'd heard correctly.
Running a hand through his hair in frustration, Aariz sighed. "Nothing. Just go and call Saira. Ask her to come work in my cabin."
"But sir," Asher started carefully, "she's working with Ishaan and Ayaaz on a project right now. How will she manage to work here too?"
"I don't care." Aariz's voice was firm. "Just tell her to come here. She'll work in my cabin."
Reluctantly, Asher nodded and left.
A few minutes later, a knock echoed on the door. Without waiting for a reply, Saira entered, her glare sharp enough to cut through steel. Aariz barely reacted, his eyes fixed on his laptop screen.
"Sit here and work," he said curtly, pointing to the chair he had moved beside his own.
"Are you out of—" Saira began, but her words faltered as Aariz shot her a murderous glare. Swallowing her retort, she cursed him under her breath and plopped into the chair. She opened her laptop and started working, trying to ignore how close he'd positioned her seat to his.
As they worked, Aariz's eyes frequently wandered toward her. She kept yawning, her exhaustion evident. After another stretch of yawns, she grabbed the landline.
"What do you want?" Aariz asked without looking up.
"Coffee," she said simply.
Aariz frowned, narrowing his eyes. "You've already had ten cups in the last three hours. How much more do you need?"
Mimicking his expression, Saira shot back, "Do you even know when I slept last night?"
He shook his head.
"Khud toh aaram se meri neende uda kar so gaye the. Kaise pata hoga!" she muttered sarcastically. "I slept at seven this morning. I was already dead tired yesterday, and now, without proper sleep, I can't control my sleepiness no matter how much coffee I drink."
Internally, Aariz smirked, but his face remained stern. "No more coffee. It'll ruin your health. Just control your sleep, and don't forget you have to submit this project by afternoon."
Saira sighed, knowing he was right, and turned back to her laptop. Her struggle to stay awake was evident. Finally, unable to hold on, she rested her head on the table and closed her eyes.
Aariz chuckled softly. Unable to resist teasing her, he let his hand lightly trail across her thigh, his touch deliberate and slow.
Saira jolted upright, gasping in surprise. "What the hell!" she exclaimed, glaring at him.
Suppressing a laugh, Aariz asked innocently, "Sleep flew away, didn't it?"
Still glaring, she swatted his hand away, but Aariz leaned closer, his voice dropping to a teasing whisper. "Or is it that my touch made you feel...horny?"
Her jaw dropped in disbelief. Standing abruptly, she snapped, "Tharkulle aadmi! Kabhi romance ki duniya se bahar toh aao!"
Leaning back in his chair with an amused smile, Aariz replied, "Jab itni haseen biwi mili hai, toh shohar romance ki duniya se bahar kaise aa sakta hai?"
