"Officer Chen reporting for duty, Sir!" Chen announces as Tim stares blankly at her next to their shop. "Boot, I've told you a million times if you keep being stupid on the job. You're going to get yourself killed, or I will have you fired. You can't handle yourself in the streets if you act like this," Tim said, his words harsh but truthful.

They rode in silence for a while, waiting for their first call of the day. Lucy looks at Tim, studying his facial expressions. His brows were furrowed, and his lips pursed. He was in thought, but what about? Lucy wondered.

"Take a picture it'll last longer..." Tim said coldly, making Lucy jump out of her trance."If you do take a photo, I will smash your phone in front of you." Lucy sat upright shifting uncomfortably in her seat. He stopped at a red light and stared at her intensely his gase, making her feel like a small child again.

Just as he was about to say something, there was a call on the radio, and they're both pulled back into silence. There had been tension between them all day because of the words Tim had uttered to her that same morning. "You can't handle yourself in the street." Those 7 words had Lucy's mind racing with different thoughts.

The car door closed with a thud, and Lucy and Tim walked side by side to the door of 68 Carrington Road. Lucy reached out to knock, but the door had swung open, and a 5'9 30-odd year old man grabbed Lucy and pulled her inside. Before Tim could do anything, the door was locked. He tried kicking it down but in return found a very sharp pain going through his foot as he realised too late that the door was a metal door.

Tim could hear Lucy scream, and he tried to find a way into the house, but all the windows were plated with metal. He grew irritated and impatient, unable to save Lucy.

The man grabbed Lucy by the throat, squeezing it tight until her eyes were rolling and she was discoloured. He slams her against the wall, shaking her up. He grabs her again, but this time, he produces a knife and makes slow and deep cuts to her arms, making a pattern. Lucy cried out, unable to move against the buff man.

She kicks, scratches, and bites him in an attempt to get him off or at least have some of his DNA on her in case of the worst-case scenario. She manages to get a hand loose and grab her gun. "Bang." She gasped. She had just shot someone. She breathed heavily, her chest falling and rising, and she just stared paralysed. She hears banging on the door, which brings her back to reality.

Lucy runs over to the door and unlocks it, seeing Tim go to bang the door another time, but nearly hitting her instead as the door opens. He stops and looks at her. He grabs her in a hug and just holds her tight for a moment. She breathed a breath she didn't know she was holding. She felt safe in her TOs arms.

"I'm sorry," he whispered. "What was that?" Lucy smiled. "Nothing, I didn't say anything," Tim stiffens, letting go, a slight smile tugging at his lips. "Tim?" "Yeah?", "I'm sorry," "What for?" Lucy looks down at her shoes, avoiding eye contact at all costs."I don't think I should do this job, I can't handle myself. You were right." Tim's breath hitched. He'd been beating himself up over their last conversation, and now she's apologising? "No, Lucy, I'm sorry, I shouldn't have said you can't handle yourself. You obviously can," Lucy looked up at him. She wraps her arms around his waist and sobs. He was taken about by this and stood up begrudgingly but wrapped his arms around her shoulders, rubbing her back as she cried into his chest.

A small smile was plastered onto his face.
