Why is my addiction?

Before you read this I want to you ask yourself , what is my addiction?

Sometimes the things we don't think we are addicted to is the addiction. Our addiction isn't just an addiction it's an idol in our lives. We sometimes think of that one thing we do as something any regular person does , like smoking weed is a common thing , having sex is a common thing , or even drinking is a common thing. We assume that if someone knew about it , would it be a big deal? Because it's something everyone in America does.

I'm saying all of this to tell you , what if that addiction that you think is so common destroys your dreams , your relationship with God , your salvation , your destiny , and etc. what if I told you that very thing you are addicted to could lead you to hell?

Understand that these things that America made common and America made comfortable to be addicted to is not okay for you or especially your spirit.

In the Bible God alludes to a lot of the people who had additions and not even your traditional style addictions. Some people were addicted to the old way a living , being bitter , being unforgiving , being hateful , jealousy , anger , a liar , even being addicted to not wanting change. There are so many things we can be addicted to and not know about. Addictions usually stem from lack of self control (proverbs 25:28). Without self control there's no possible way you'll be free from the addiction or addictions you have. Self control gives you the mindset to say "you know what , why is it when i'm going through something or feeling down , depressed , sad , or lonely I turn to this thing that brings me temporary peace or happiness?". That's the meaning of addiction to me , like example

"Let me masturbate , because today was very stressful and this would make me feel better". That right there is what keeps you in that place of addiction. The fact that when you're going through something or even when you're already happy , why do you feel the need to do this thing that brings you temporary happiness? Why resort to this thing that isn't gonna change the trajectory of your situation ?

It's so easy for us to do things that make us temporarily happy but we don't realize that fact is temporarily = relief , two things that are from the devil. The devil wants you to have a relief like an addiction but God wants to heal you so you won't have an addiction.The devil is temporary , God is everlasting.

Let me be clear about something as well , you won't know what you're addictions are until you truly start trying to build your relationship with God. I learnt two of my addictions when I started getting closed to God and it was honestly a surprise to me. Before I started making the effort to build a relationship with God the devil made it seem having sex or masturbating wasn't something I was addicted to , it was more so of something I choose to do when I felt like it. I didn't know the stronghold those two things had over me until I started being serious about God. I'm not saying getting over an addiction is easy but it's definitely possible for it to become easy. When you're addicted to something it's called a habit , and one thing I know you can do is change those habits to something that is good and of God. The impact sex and porn had on my life is something I didn't know at all , I was in tears to find out this is what my stronghold is. I remember telling myself in my mind , why can't I be addicted to anything else like drinking or smoking why something like sex or porn that is known to America to satisfy our anatomy? It's no secret that porn and sex is heavily influenced and commercialized in today's world , because in the mines of the industry they say "Sex Sells , Sex Appeal , or trying to be a Sex Symbol".

That was always my main argument as to why I shouldn't stop doing it. I was always thinking to myself about how people on the internet told me masturbation isn't a sin because all boys do it or my favorite one was "well masturbation is better than having sex with someone else , it's better to do that than to be having sex without someone outside of marriage like the Bible says". Yes, that is true we shouldn't have sex outside of marriage , but did yall know when your masturbating you're still having sex with people as well.....and those people are spirits and demons. Believe it or not , when you're not giving or submitting your body to God , you're giving your body to something or someone else. That's not even for masturbation or porn it could be for other things that are ungodly as well. But back to the subject of masturbation and porn , there are demons who dwell with you when you are doing those things and their names are Succubus and Incubus. You could only imagine when you do those things how many spirits and demons you're married to in the spiritual realm. That's one of the main reasons so may addictions or common and exist because we don't know with our flesh eyes what's going on in the spiritual realm. If God was to show us the truth of our sins in that realm and unlock the knowledge that wouldn't be known if it wasn't for Adam and Eve , we would all be on our knees weeping and repenting to God. I think the problem is we don't care to think about the cause and affect of our sins or addictions because the thing we are doing is having us stuck in this temporary mindset , happiness , and satisfying feeling and honestly all of that is a blindfold by the enemy. It all leads back to the power of control.

My hypnosis of Eve eating that fruit was for control power , she wanted to know her own will power and destiny and have control over her own self and not control under God. The devil wanted her to be intrigued to an ungodly mind of thinking just like he did. One of the many reasons why the devil got kicked out of heaven was because he wanted control over his own self. He didn't want to be control under God or do the will of God because he felt like that was someone telling him what to do and that's how the devil deceived Eve or even in today's world that's how our minds deceive us. Once the devil deceived Eve , she ended up taking that and pasting it down to the next person which was Adam , that's what lack of self control is. When you have a lack of self control , the wisdom , knowledge, and understanding. You try to control the things and people around you so you can be comfortable in what you're doing that isn't right or was it the fact eve didn't have the knowledge, wisdom , or understanding so she willingly took Adam along with her to commit sin against God. So think about all those people who told you masturbation is normal , and doing self pleasure is better than doing it with someone else , that's what you called misguidance that comes from a lack of understanding , knowledge , and wisdom from God and the word of God.

Apart of what helps you get free from your addiction is your relationship with God , conviction inside of your body and you being obedient to that conviction is you resisting the devil and temptation to do that thing your addicted to and that is one of the many things that help you get free and will build up your strong man of Self control.
