This poem is dedicated to my Grandpa Jack. Thank you for always being there for me.

You didn't have to die
I wish you could see me as I graduate
Dressed in cap, gown, and tassel
Shining with ambitious dreams
Surrounded by my friends
I wish you could see me recite this to you
Every verse, line, syllable
From beginning to very end
Like a song just for you
I wish you could see how much I miss you
The tears, longing, and regret
Hoping you still are there
Hoping you see me and smile
I hope you're happy now
Looking down on me from heaven
Even if I fervently wish
You didn't have to die
