Xornoth had just finished putting on his numerous badges and ruffling up his hair in the mirror, trying to perfect it. These meetings were no joke.
He jumped up about a foot into the air as the door creaked open, Scott eyeing him from head to toe.
'Meeting's now.' He said. His hair was imaculate as always, and Xornoth found himself wondering why Scott got all the good genes, as Xor's hair required washing about twice a day because of dandruff.
'Coming.' Xornoth said, applying some purple eyeshadow, because he didn't give two fucks about his parents anymore.
He entered the room, which would never not surprise him. It was a tall church, with a large prismarine roof. It was well-lit by electric lights, courtesy of the Grimlands. They were lucky to even have electric lighting. Some places, such as the cod empire and the Undergrove still used lanterns, though whether it was because of the cod-salmon feud or the cottagecore vibes, Xornoth would never know.
His black cloak swished around his feet as he saw his parents' eyes widen in horror from the eyeshadow. He internally smirked. Good.
'Xornoth Major, you wretched boy, get that make up off at once!' His mother cried.
Dumb old-lingo sounding bitch. He cringed at her use of boy. Yes, he probably was demiboy (genders were weird), but it still didn't seem like it fit.
'He's just in a phase.' His father commented, sounding less like someone from 1,000 years ago and more like a modern homophobic dad.
He watched as his mum jumped down from the stage with the lectern. He was well used to this by now. He raised an arm as she attempted to wipe off the make-up. She grabbed the nearest object, which happened to be a lamp, and hit him with it.
He felt a searing pain through his shoulder, and then through his eye. He stumbled back, clutching his bleeding eye.
'Shit, SHIT!' He heard Scott shout.
He knew Scott was arguing with his mother, he just couldn't see it. It was like he couldn't see anything. His left eye wasn't working or something. All he could see through it was rushing blood.
He'd become used to abuse by now. It came with being a prince. You'd have to be perfect, or else.
'YOU'VE BLINDED HIM!' He heard Scott scream.
'Oh shut up, that's what he gets for trying to be a girl, you're not one of them tr-'
'FUCK YOU!' Scott shouted over her.
Their father, who'd mostly been agreeing with what their mother said, suddenly stood up, his face beetroot red.
'THAT'S IT!' He screamed. 'YOU TWO ARE STAYING AT THE UNDERGROVE FOR 6 MONTHS UNTIL YOU LEARN!'
'FINE!' Scott screamed back. He helped Xornoth up and they both went into Scott's room first, to pack some of his clothes, then Xornoth's room.
Xornoth picked out a couple clothes, and Scott helped him pack, because whenever he moved his left arm, a searing pain went up into his shoulder where his mother had hit him.
