The night air was cold and crispy, as a female cougar, that we will call Pine. was in a low hunting crouch, the prey scents where rather high tonight, a rabbit stalked ahead on a rock, nibbling on grass. the day had been hot the prey had hidden in its holes.
Pine jumped on the rabbit , quickly killing it , with a swift bite. the scent of a different cougar was in the air, Pine ignored it as he trotted back to his den. a black cougar appeared from the bushes, growling. Pine yowled at the other cougar.
The black cougar jumped on Pine, its teeth barked, Pine struggled under the weight of the other cougar, but he yowled. The black cougar hissed, as he bit Pines neck.
Pine was never seen again...Nobody knows why The other cougar killed Pine, others suspect rabies..but who knows.
