The following day, members of the Söldner's Guild were gathered at Stadtbergen's cemetery. The sky was bleak as if mourning alongside them, it was a miracle the rain did not pour during Jaxon's funeral.

Faro led the service, as a representative from the Sanctum of Light. Despite only meeting with Jaxon once, he was surprised when Bertram went to the Sanctum to tell them news of Jaxon's passing.

"The young dragonborn?" Faro asked, shaking his head when he first heard the news, "Oh...but he was destined for a long life..."

Elaine and Maeve also attended Jaxon's funeral service, offering their condolences to his comrades.

"My deepest condolences," Elaine said, shaking their hands, "I didn't expect him to leave this soon..."

"We all didn't, it's okay, Miss Clergy," Johann said with a sad smile, "Thank you for coming."

Maeve stopped and eyed her former mentor for a while before engulfing him in a hug.

"Stay strong, Maxwell," she said in a soft tone, "He's in a better place now."

Maxwell sighed and hugged her back.

"Thank you..."

Even Durinn, the town's librarian, came to express his grief.

"...He was a great kid."

After the ceremony was finished, Rae couldn't help but notice that almost half of the townspeople attended the funeral. They realised how much of an influence Jaxon had on the community, and it was a bittersweet thing to think about. Seeing how many people cared for their friend gave them the push to bring justice and avenge his death.

With one last look at their beloved friend's tombstone, they made a silent vow to not let him down.

Some days after the funeral, the group began to plan their next move. With the guild members becoming their main source of troops, they set up their hidden headquarters underneath Bertram's tavern. The barkeep himself decided to secretly spread the word about their movement, gathering more people to join their cause. More than half of Stadtbergen's population decided to join, for they too had enough of the false Crown Ruler's reign of tyranny.

After the convincing speech they gave, the guild members all decided to advocate for them as the coup leader and main strategist. Johann, being the most experienced fighter out of all of them, was appointed as the commander of the front lines, while Maxwell became the commander of the marksmen of which Maeve was also a part. The healers mostly consisted of clergies from the local Sanctum of Light, with Elaine and Faro managing them.

The dwarf librarian did not exactly enjoy participating in acts of violence and would rather stay neutral in times of rebellion. However, since he was fond of the former mage since they often visited the town's library, he decided to let the group of rebels borrow any sort of scrolls or books that might help them with their coup.

Rae, who would be quite helpless on the battlefield without their magic, tried to meditate for hours without end to regain at least ten per cent of their manna. But of course, it was useless, for their uncle had completely drained them. In the end, they were only able to summon a small ball of light for a few seconds before it evaporated.

Every time they walked out of the Sanctum of Light in hopes that the sphere would accelerate the process, Johann, Maxwell, and Faro would be greeted with a tired smile and a slight shake of the head from the former mage.

The bald clergy sighed, turning to the former mage with a small smile.

"The sphere is the Heart of the Sanctum, for it is where the Everlasting Light would often communicate to us or offer healing without the help of us clergies. You could say it is the embodiment of the Light Themselves."
