(The group follows Koga as he rushes down the windy street. The wind is blowing hard as Gary Oak, Palpitoad, and Erika follow Koga down the street and into a slave hovel. Gary Oak, Palpitoad, Viger, and Erika enter a small living space.)
Young Koga: Mom! Mom! I'm home.
Palpitoad: This place is comfortable!
(Koga's mother, Karen Fuchsia, a warm, friendly woman of forty, enters from her work area and is startled to see the room full of people.)
Karen: Oh, my!! Koga, what's this?
Young Koga: These are my friends, Mom. This is Erika, and... Gee, I don't know any of your names.
Gary Oak: I'm Gary Oak, and this is Palpitoad.
Viger: And I'm Viger the Magnemite!
Young Koga: Awesome! A talking Pokémon! I'm building a Paradox Pokémon. Do you want to see?
Karen: Koga! Why are they here?
Young Koga: A sandstorm, Mom. Listen.
(The wind starts to howl outside.)
Gary Oak: Your son was kind enough to offer us shelter.
Young Koga: Come on! Let me show you Iron Valiant!
Koga leads Erika into the other room. Viger follows, contemplating what Iron Valiant could be. Gary Oak takes five small capsules from his utility belt and hands them to Karen.
Gary Oak: I have enough food for a meal.
Karen: Oh, thank you. Thank you so much. I'm sorry if I was abrupt. I'll never get used to Koga's surprises.
Gary Oak: He's a very special boy.
(Karen looks at him as if he's discovered a secret.)
Karen: Yes, I know.
(Koga shows off his Paradox Pokémon, which is lying on his workbench. There is one eye in the head; the body, arms, and legs have no outer coverings.)
Young Koga: Isn't he great?! He's not finished yet.
Erika: He's wonderful!
Young Koga: You really like him? He's a Paradox Pokémon... To help Mom. Watch!
(Koga pushes a switch, and the Pokémon sits up. Anakin rushes around, grabs an eye and puts it in one of the sockets.)
Valiant: How do you do, I am Iron Valiant, the Robotic Gallade. How might I serve you?
Erika: He's perfect.
Young Koga: When the storm is over, you can see my racer. I'm building a Sparrow!
(Erika smiles at his enthusiasm.)
Viger: (Disgusted tone) But he's naked! Dear God!
Valiant: I beg your pardon...! What do you mean I'm naked?
Viger: Your parts are showing, man!
Valiant: My parts are showing? Oh, my. How embarrassing!
(Susie, Clair, Roxanne, and Bolo watch a very bad transmission of Falkner's hologram.)
Falkner: They have threatened to cut off all food supplies until you return... The death toll is catastrophic... We must bow to their wishes, Madame Haltmann... Please tell us what to do! If you can hear us, Madame Haltmann, you must contact me...
(Susie looks upset...almost nervous.)
Bolo: It's a trick. Send no reply... Send no transmission of any kind.
