MARLEY Remington has a reputation at Chilton. Everybody, even the teachers, knows that someone saw her making out with another girl at a house party last year. Almost her entire friend group dropped her after that. She's been ostracized by nearly everyone at school. Most Chilton girls don't dare come near her, as if they might turn gay just by being close by. Marley's parents found out too, because everyone in high society Hartford knows everything, and lost their minds. If they hear about her getting involved with a woman again, Marley is on thin ice. High society Hartford kids aren't supposed to be gay. But Rory Gilmore, fresh off the bus from Nowheresville, doesn't know any of that. Quiet, intelligent, and far removed from the cutthroat world of Connecticut's elite, Rory is the perfect candidate for friendship. Marley invites her to sit at her lunch table. With no better offers of friendship from the Chilton vultures, Rory takes her up on it, and they become fast friends.

SOON enough, Rory learns why Marley, one of the only girls to be nice to her at this entire school, has no friends. It makes no difference to her what Marley's sexuality is. It doesn't change their friendship. Or, at least, it shouldn't. But this feels different from any other friendship she's had. She feels...things about Marley, things she's never felt before, and she doesn't know how to explain it. She doesn't know how to explain why kissing the new boy feels like cheating. Marley feels things for Rory too, and she knows exactly what it is: trouble. She can't let herself fall for a girl again, and she can't let Rory make the same mistake she did. Chilton girls don't kiss other girls.

author's note

Heyyyyy. Never thought I would have the urge to write a Gilmore Girls fanfiction, of all things. I will admit, I have not been a die-hard fan since I was like 12—Rory and Lorelai get under my skin now—but I had an itch to rewatch the first few seasons and decided that the show would be better if it was gayer. I imagine very few people are interested in a sapphic Rory Gilmore fic, but it's summer break and I have nothing better to do. So. Here you go.

And. Uh. If you are deeply offended by use of profanity, maybe steer clear of this book, lmao.
