Hyunjin sat there stunned by how snippy Prince Bangchan had been. Maybe it was because the man was spoiled beyond belief. Or maybe just maybe, Hyunjin hit a nerve and actually offended him.
His free time was up and he had to slink off from the university's library and to his sculpting class. Being an art major had its perks but sometimes he found it frustrating when he couldn't convey what he saw in his mind while he molded the clay.
Seungmin spoke up, snapping him out of his trance as he was using a scraping tool to remove excess clay. "You good man, your resting bitch face could kill if someone stared a second too long." He joked as he squinted his eyes at whatever the older was working on.
Only a few months separated the two, which is what Hyunjin had learned from the few shared classes. Hyunjin's dark eyes flicker from his work in front of him to the younger. Then to his work station where he had managed to somehow mold a small alligator from the tiny block of clay they had been given. "You finished already, how?" He was baffled.
He then noticed the time and was confused as to how much of it had passed. As fellow classmates began to pack up their belongings. He must've been so unfocused. He sighed as he abandoned his work. He had been so absentmindedly carving away at his piece that the details were so wrong. Sighing he set it aside and figured saying it was abstract was his best bet.
Jaw clenching, perfectionism at its finest, as he fished his phone out of his pocket. He saw a notification on his screen. A small red 1. Blinking on the school apps icon. Hastily he clicked it to see Bangchan's question. "Who are you?"
Hyunjin scoffed, cramming it right back from whence it came. He'd answer him tomorrow, because there was no way. Nerdy, artsy Hyunjin was going to reveal who he was to Chan, not anytime soon at least. If ever. He'd die if he learned who he was, if he was being honest.
He could be daft at times but he wasn't stupid. Jocks and those with high status didn't fall for poor kids who would have been bullied in secondary school. That didn't happen in real life, that was just fictional stories.
Hyunjin huffed a sigh then cracked a smile at Minnie. Knowing he was just trying to lighten Hyunjin's mood. It was heavy in the air around him and being an empath and emotional person. He absolutely sucked at hiding his emotions and when things weighed on his mind. Yet, he was horrid at expressing how he felt aside from facial expressions.
"Do you want to go grab dinner before we go to dance class this evening?" He asked his friend that he had quickly formed a close friendship with. Seungmin accepted him for who he was and all the quirks he came with. He even let him just spew everything as they ate. As he always did when something bothered him.
Seungmin just listened and let him get it all out. But the way he stared at him made Hyunjin particularly nervous, causing him to mess with the collar of his shirt. Followed with hands in his hair. Both his nervous habits or ticks. "Waeee?!" He practically whined.
"Jinnie! He's the Prince! You have to keep talking to him. Maybe you can befriend him. Or like.." before he could even finish Hyunjin cut him off.
"No, I don't care about his money.. but you have got to admit he's got one hell of a body. Did you see it in ballet?" Hyunjin flushed bright red. Ready to pull his shirt up over his head at the admission that so easily fell from his lips. Embarrassment embraced him as he sighed.
"Alright.. fine I'll get to know him. But I'll never tell him who I am. This isn't Disney Minnie!" Smirking at his use of the other's nickname he'd given him at that very moment.
"Oh shut up. Let's get ready for dance class or we're going to be late like you were for sculpting!" Seungmin jested at him and jabbed a finger in his direction to make his point even more dramatic.
"You're truly a menace, you know that?" Hyunjin spitfired right back but couldn't help himself nor the smile that spread across his features. Face lighting up as did the weight on his shoulders from the secret he felt he'd been keeping.
Now Chan was not on his mind. Running to practice and on a full stomach. Bad idea. Cramps were gonna be horrible. He'd grin and bear it to make it through and even remain behind to practice until he felt so exhausted he could barely hold his eyes open on the way back to his dorm.

The following morning Hyunjin woke with a start as his alarm was sounding so loud and Han was banging on his door. "HYUNJIN-AHHHHH TURN OFF YOUR ALARM!!!" Groggily reaches to smack his alarm clock. Turning it off, blurry eyes started to focus. It had been going off for a good twenty minutes. No wonder Jisung was mad. He'd have to apologize and make it up to him later.
Sitting up in bed he stretched and yawned. Reaching for his phone. He decided to ignore Bangchan's question instead he greeted him.
**outgoing message**
Anon: "Good morning Prince Charming!"
Text sent he headed to shower and get ready. Pausing he backtracked and set a follow up text.
**outgoing message**
Anon: "If I promise to tell you who I am, will you promise to keep talking to me? I'd like to get to know you! Maybe for who you really are and not the persona you put out or have to uphold."
Finger hesitated on the send key. Contemplating erasing it and rewording it. "Ah, fuck." His thumb twitched, and it sent. Nothing he could do now, but get ready for another day full of classes.
Hyunjin had no clue if Chan had read his messages but by mid morning he was anxious that he was now the one left on read. He was confident Chan wouldn't talk to him again. All because he was scared to admit who he was, as if he even knew he existed. Despite sharing several courses together.
He was also nervously awaiting any message from him even if it was bad at this point. He'd take anything. Hours ticking by. Man is this how he felt waiting for an answer the other night? Damn why do people do this?! He thought to himself. He'd never do that again if he could help it. Should the Prince ever send him a message back.
