Chan went through a range of emotions. So quickly he had become attached to this person he didn't know. Talking pretty much daily in a matter of weeks. So at first he was concerned when Hyunjin didn't respond. But then he got pissy thinking he was being ghosted.
Who would ghost him?? Right?! Nah he was being ridiculous. But this guy seemed to like him and if he didn't know any better, it was mutual. So in settled the horrible feeling of abandonment.
Going through bit of a hiccup in his daily activities. He couldn't concentrate on his studies and he sure as hell couldn't focus on the court at practice. He even fumbled horribly during a game. He didn't know what was wrong with him.
"CHAN— AH! Earth to Hyung!" Minho snapped fingers in front of his face. Most the boys had finished stretching and were told to run laps by Minho. His face was full of expression something he usually lacked in his stoic nature.
"What is going on? Your heads not there!" Came the question followed by the obvious. Chan damn near snapped in retort.
"I'm fu.. fine! I'm fine! It's nothing!" He could feel himself clench his hands and release them at his side before stalking off. He was in no mood to discuss what was bothering him. He felt utterly foolish he was duped.
Little did he know Hyunjin got really ill from staying up too late and not sleeping enough. Dancing too hard and trying to keep up with studies. Wearing down his immune system until he had collapsed his dorm mate Felix had rushed him to the hospital after stumbling upon him when he decided to stop home for lunch between classes.
It wasn't until he was sitting next to his brother Felix that he began to open up. To the one person he felt he could share with without some type of judgment. Granted Minho probably wouldn't not even slightly having been his est friend since childhood.
"Oi, Felix.. C'mere bro!" He called to him who sat on the other side of the couch. "Do you think I was ghosted?" He asked flatly. Showing a snippet of his messages to Felix. Scrolling through the tail end of them just before Hyunjin had gone static.
"I.." he rubbed the back of his neck. "I kinda went off of him. He probably blocked me!"
Just the thought made the male feel nauseous. Felix rolled his eyes. "Maybe he is busy mate, ever think of that?" Felix through at him.
Chan furrowed his brow and his eyes dropped to the floor. "I mean yeah.. sure.. but we were talking every single day! Then he just up and stopped."
Felix stared hard at him a damn near dead pan. "Chan, bro.. why don't you just go see him then?"
Chan's face flushed a horrible shade of red then he became pale as paper. "Cause I don't even know his name. He has it concealed."
Felix looked shocked. "How do you know it's not a female then? Maybe you're being catfished." He offered then realized he hadn't helped by thinking out loud. He climbed up beside Chan and rubbed his back.
Chan shrugged away from him, not one to e touched when upset. "See I knew I wasn't over reacting...it's all my fault for being so hope—" His words cut short as a text came in, the school app scrolling across the screen as a notification sounded. "Holy shit he texted back." He became pale again. As he saw the photo of the males hands. A clear band on his wrist and an iv. "Oh fuck he's in the hospital!"
Guilt instantly crashed over him, he felt so heartless. Here he had been feeling abandoned and this unknown male was ill. He felt nauseous and instantly began apologizing profusely.
Felix rubbed his back again. "I'll get you some water! At least you got an answer. See if he will talk to you! Like voice call. Maybe talking will be better than text."
Chan nodded and paced back and forth having texted that as a suggestion. Even sent his actual cell number to him. "hey why don't we get off here and you just text me! Maybe we can have a voice chat? I'll ring you... or you can ring me. What do you say?"
Felix snorted as he returned with his water. "Here Prince Bang. Maybe you should have a drink and relax. I'll leave you to it. Besides mum says I need more etiquette classes so I am off to them!" He rolled his eyes so hard you'd think they'd stick on him.
Chan had snatched the bottle and drank anxiously from it. Quick little sips and a few more paces. Finally his phone pinged. Followed by a ring. Hands trembling he almost hung up on the male. Finally three tries later he got it. Clearing his throat he answered nervously. "He- hello?"
