ZORAINE
"Congratulations, Zoraine my daughter! You did it, alam ko naman na mapapanalo mo ulit."My mom happily welcomed me after the flight from Vietnam to Manila. Another competition, another gold medal, another trophy.
Nakakapagod yung flight but of course, I don't want to waste my mom's effort para lang icelebrate namin yung pagkapanalo ko. Nakakamiss din yung pagkain sa Philippines.
"How's Vietnam?" Tanong niya nang umupo na kami para Kumain, "Manang, kain na rin po kayo. Come on, don't be shy, let's celebrate my daughter's win."
"It's nice, but I just spend my time there studying." I said which makes her laugh a bit. "Let's just visit nalang there again pag bakasyon mo na, so that you can enjoy."
"And, no books or any study essential things." She added. Mom really. She's not pressuring me on my acads naman which is good, that's why we have strong bond."Wala kang work?" I asked as soon as I remember na it's Tuesday ngayon. Hindi rin naman holiday para hindi siya pumasok.
"Anak, I want to welcome you syempre. Don't mind the work, minsan lang naman ako mag absent." She said and smiled. Just that, we continue to eat and tinanong niya pa ako about my experience sa Vietnam.
With all of my achievement, I manage to support myself without asking for allowance. It's a good practice just in case na mag plano ako mag live independently sa college.
After we ate, nagrest lang ako and then nag shower na. I also unpack my things from my luggage para hindi na 'ko tamarin mamaya.
Sinabit ko na yung medal ko and I put my trophy sa Isang cabinet na puno ng mga certificates and trophies na napanalunan ko since elementary.
I heard a knock and I assume na si nanay Helen lang yan so I carefully close my cabinet and walks towards the door para buksan ito.
But it's not nanay Helen, it's mom. She was holding a pink paper bags, and smiling. Did she prepared that much?
"A gift." She simply said.
I frowned upon hearing that simple statement from her. "Thank you. But mom, you don't have to buy me gifts naman."
"And who told you na ako bumili nyan?" She raised her brow while pointing the paper bags.
"Just see it yourself, I'm pretty sure you'll like it." She said, winking at me before she left my room. I was left dumbfounded there, standing like idiot while holding the paper bag she just handed minutes ago.
Pumunta ako sa higaan para umupo at mabuksan na yung regalo. Ano kaya yung laman?
As soon as I open it, it's a pink puff sleeve dress, combination of white and pink hair clip. Sa Isang paper bag, it's white sandals. It is so coquette!
Who ever sent me these, thank you very much! It's not my birthday but these gifts are just too much, but I really love it.
I was about to keep all the paper bags sa one side ng drawer ko when a pink paper slip.
A letter?
I pick it up to see if it's a letter, and yup. Letter nga siya.
