Chapter 2: Cheerdance

Zoraine

After 13 days of staying in Singapore, finally, uuwi na ulit sa Philippines.

Many cameras greeted us from the airport as they showed their support for us.

I simply show a smile para naman maayos parin akong tignan sa mga pictures na ilalabas nila mamaya sa social media.

oraine Lyrese Bascon Wins Championship title at Science Tech Asia Olympiad (STAO)

In a remarkable achievement, 16-year-old Zoraine Bascon has clinched the championship at the prestigious Science Tech Asia Olympiad. Held in Singapore this year, the competition drew the brightest young minds from across the continent, all vying for the top spot in various science and technology disciplines.

Congratulations, Zoraine!

"Nice one, Zoraine! Bascon for a win!"

My friend said in chorus as they read the post of our university.

We're at the canteen right now, kinulit nila akong ilibre sila. "May laban kapa?" Ellie ask.

"Wala na", sagot ko. Last na yung STAO for this academic year. I can focus on my acads now, hindi na ako puro pull out.

Yes, we're still preparing for the Wushu, pero sa December pa naman 'yon. Basically, next A.Y. na 'yon.

My classmates can't survive the capacity of my brain, kasi natatabunan na naman sila ng mga sunod-sunod kong recitations.

"Zoraine again? Any other hand?"

Puro discussion.

"Good afternoon. Take your seat, everyone." Our MAPEH teacher said. "First of all, I would like to congratulate Zoraine", he momentarily stops to give me a round of applause. Ganyan yan siya.

"Second is, your performance task is Cheerdance."

A loud groan from the class can be heard. I can't relate actually, e sa ngayon lang ako pumasok.

"I know na it's tiring, last nalang din naman 'to", he said, trying to convince us.

4th quarter na pala? Ngayon palang kasi ako nakapasok ng maayos sa mga subjects e.

He started to discuss the cheerdance before he let us change our uniforms. Buti nalang pala dinala ko na yung PE uniform ko ngayon.

Nang makapag palit na kami, we proceed sa gymnasium.

"Luh, ang coquette mo naman!" Nickyle said. It feels so nice to wear my green and white PE uniform again, yung hindi review or field trip pero performance activity.

"For this performance task, maglalaban kayo mga sections niyo for grade 10 only." A gasp from them can be heard.

"Anak, if you want to practice you can use our main court or here at the gymnasium." He explained. But, there are 5 sections in our grade level? Tig dalawa bawat court?

"Sir, are we allowed to practice outside campus?" I asked. Some of my classmates also ask, inulit lang nila tanong ko.

"Yes. But, no choreographer."

"Basic, may Zoraine naman kami", Kirk boastfully said making Mr. Mallard to roll his eyes but he still chuckles a bit.

He shows us how to do those basic hand movements used in cheerdance and after that, he gave us some time to have a meeting for our cheerdance.
