A few weeks have passed since her argument, Jane wakes up and checks her phone.

"Hey, I heard there's some deer nearby. Don't know if they've been bit or not, but let's go check it out. Bring ur weapons just in case." Lyla sent, followed by an emoji.

"I didn't mean to send that emoji. Ignore that. Sorry. I meant to send this one." This message being followed by a zombie emoji instead. After reading this, Jane got ready, putting on her clothes and getting her backpack.

It was a hard decision to choose to either stay with her father, or her friend Lyla, which were both close anyways, so Jane ended up taking over an abandoned home after killing off the zombies that used to live there and making it her own place... Although, she still prefers her friends house.

"Of course." She texted back. "Wait for me, okay? I'm getting ready. Are we driving or walking?"

"It's probably a thirty minute walk, so I'm sure we'd be good. Just head to my house when you're done."

Jane then finished putting her shoes on.   "Okay. Your brother will watch your house, right?"

"Of course. It's the least he can do. At this point I'm sure your dog helps more than he does considering all he does is play video games."

She turned to glance at her dog. "Ace. Up, boy." The dog let out a yawn and skipped to her side. "Let's go. We're gonna get some deer!" Jane opened the door and took a few steps to Lylas house before knocking. "Lyla!"

Lyla opened her door, still wearing her pajamas. Which included vibrant purple pants, and a shirt with wolves on it. "Hey."

"Cute. But I don't think you can wear that while trying to blend into the grass, or trees to stay out of their sight." Jane gestured to her own clothes, wearing a more dull green shirt and some black pants.

"I know, I'm getting ready too. Stay in the living room for a second.."

"Hey, you're the one that texted me first, how the hell aren't you ready before I am?"

Lyla shrugged. "Wasn't expecting you to actually get dressed that early."

Jane rolled her eyes and sat down on the couch next to Luke, who was watching TV. "Hey Luke."
"Hey Jane. You two hunting?" Luke asked, not taking his eyes off the screen.

"Yeah. Lyla said she heard that some deer are nearby. You're watching the house."

  "Okay, cool."

They both silently watched the television before Lyla walked back in with a more fitting outfit for a hunt.

"Awesome." Said Jane, grinning and giggling as she stood back up. "Let's go. See you, Luke."

As the two of them walked they decided to talk to each other. "So, as we saw last week, these things are terrifying at their final stage. Half of their body is covered in bugs and warts, and their teeth are WAY sharper."

They headed towards the trees to peek and see if any deer were over there. It'd be easy to tell the difference between a normal one and one that's bit, one that's been bitten will chase anything or anyone, or at least attempt to. They let out loud screeches unlike your typical deer, and obviously, you wouldn't always see a normal one covered in blood.
