Today was the day me and my Ma leave for international break, it was during half term for me so it was really nice to fly out and see some of my family as well. I started scrolling through Instagram as our flight wasn't until late afternoon and it was currently 8:10am. I was going to miss Caitlin, Ella and Theo for a week but I haven't seen my grandparents and cousins in ages.

"Ava what would you like for breakfast sweetheart?" Caitlin knocked on my door and asked me, I let her in and asked for just some fruit as I wasn't really that hungry. I look down on the floor from my bed to see me filled to the brim suitcase, which only had the essentials in. I just love being a girl. Although, I did have to pack some of my hair things as I did need to wash my hair while we was in Ireland, so that took up quite some room.

My Ma was playing France (a) and England (h), but I was only allowed to go to England (h) though. As I was just getting into a comfy tracksuit, I see Coopurr come into my room, meowing of course. I smooth him down and start brushing my hair ready to style a slick back. I chose slick back hairstyle today so it's out of the way while we're in the airport.

As I'm just putting my last little bits into my hand travel, my Ma walks in with the bowl of fruit I asked for. "Thanks Ma, what time are we leaving?" I say, smiling as she hands me over the fruit. "As soon as your ready, but you may need to hurry up a bit" She says, laughing at my overfilled suitcase. I'm not even surprised she's making fun of me, because I always over pack on holidays or international break.

—30 minutes later—

We said our goodbyes to Ella and Caitlin, I already said goodbye to Theo yesterday when we met up. It was a sad one, because we haven't had international break in so long and we've all been together. But me and my Ma got into the taxi and waved them goodbye. "You excited? You haven't seen Nonna and everybody in ages" My Ma says, 'Nonna' is what I call my grandma. When I was little, I could never say grandma and I always just used to call her Nonna, so it's just stuck.

As we arrive at Heathrow airport, we thank and pay the driver and get out. Normally we see a lot of fans at Heathrow, because it's one of the main airports in England. It's currently 12:15pm, and our flight is at 3:30pm, so we have a few hours to look around in duty free; which is my favourite part of the airport.

—3 hours later—

After a couple of hours looking around the airport, our flight to Dublin is finally ready to board. It's going to feel so nice getting out of the UK for a bit. Our gate number is D3 and we're sat in the middle of the plane. "Right this is us, row 15" Ma says, letting me sit by the window. I always used to sit next to the window when I was little, so now it's a tradition. We are also flying with one of my Ma's teammates, Anna Patten. Anna used to play for Arsenal but recently moved to Aston Villa. "Are you excited to see your family Ava?" Anna says, I reply and smile. "Yeah! Isn't it your first international camp Anna? Or is my Ma just completely telling me lies" I say and laugh, she nods and says that she can't wait to meet everyone. Going on endless Ireland camps as a young kid will forever create memories in my head, I can remember walking out with my Ma when she was first introduced as captain, I think I was around 9 at the time.

—In Dublin—

Once we get off the plane, we head into an Uber to drive to camp base. We planned that it would be easier if I stay the night here and travel to stay with my Nonna tomorrow seeing as my Ma is travelling to France in the next few days. The Uber is quite small and cramped, so I'm sat in between my Ma and Anna, with my head resting on my Ma's shoulders. I'm really lucky to have a Ma who is a footballer, because I get quite a bit of time off school, although I still have to do work to catch up outside of school. This camp is actually in half term though, so I can actually enjoy it without worrying about school work.

As we pull up outside the camp, we pay the driver and get our suitcases out of the boot. There is always someone waiting for us when we arrive, they gave us fist bumps or high fives. "Next to arrive is our latest arrival, Anna Patten! She is of course joined by our little mascot Ava McCabe and our captain Katie McCabe, welcome back guys" The media crew say, we laugh and fist bump him while walking in.

When we first get in, I run up to Denise O'Sullivan who is my Ma's best mate here, I jump up on her and hug her. "Heyy I missed you kiddo, how's it been?" Denise says, last time I saw her I was in such a bad state with body image and my mental health. "Yeah good, feeling much better thanks to you" I say, the battle has been hard however I have fought it with the right people.
