Percy
I got home late in the afternoon. Mom was in the kitchen, laughing.
"I'm home!"
"In here, Percy! I have to talk to you."
I went to the kitchen, where Mom was sitting alone, her cell phone resting on the table. She was looking upbeat. This was weird for her. She usually looked tired and worn out. But today was different.
"What's up, Mom?"
She smiled. It was a soft, generous smile. "Percy, I think I'm getting a divorce."
I couldn't believe what I was hearing. "What?!"
Sally sighed. "You never liked Gabe. I don't love him either. I think it's best for all of us."
"But, what about money?"
"I can manage."
"Does Gabe know?"
"No, but I'm thinking of going out to date again," Mom said, daydreaming.
"Wait, did you meet someone?"
Mom nodded slowly. "This will be a shocker, but I'm gonna go on a date with your English teacher, Paul."
"You mean Mr. Blowfish?"
Mom smiled, shaking her head. "It's Blofis."
"Wait. If you, like, marry him, then wouldn't I have to take his last name? Percy Blofis. Ew. Annabeth Blofis. I like Annabeth Chase better."
"What?"
"What?"
"Why did you say Annabeth Blofis?"
I bet my cheeks were a deep red. "Well, you know, if we got married, she'd change her last name. I was just thinking," I said, stumbling over my words.
Mom smiled and shook her head. "No, no, Percy. This is nothing serious so far. And if I did marry, it probably wouldn't be until you were already eighteen."
Everything felt odd. The other day, Gabe was hitting me with glass bottles. In a while, he'd be out of my life forever. Maybe I could tell my mom about what he did to me. What he'd been doing.
"Mom?"
"Yes, Percy?"
Something stopped me. If Gabe was leaving, who the hell cared? Telling in him would get me no where.
"I'm really happy for you, Mom. You deserve better than Gabe."
Mom smiled, standing up to hug me. I buried my head into her dark hair, breathing in her scent. It was a unique scent. Like cookies and flower perfume. I'd grown used to that smell over the years.
"I love you, Percy."
"Love you too, Mom."
"Where were you last night?" She asked, looking at me.
"What?"
"Where were you?" She smiled a 'I know you were sleeping with Annabeth' smile. I knew she knew.
"I texted you," I explained.
"I know, but you lied."
"I didn't lie, Mom."
"Don't lie again, Perseus. We both know you spent the night at Annabeth's."
My body went into panic mode. My feet felt numb, my hands felt sweaty. "What gave it away?"
My mom smirked. "Your shirt."
I looked down at my regular dark blue shirt. "My shirt?"
She nodded. "It's clean. A little damp. It's been washed. Annabeth seems like the type of girl to do that for you. But if she did that, it means your shirt was dirty. What did you do?"
"I, uh, played soccer with my friend Jason. He plays for the school. Am I grounded for staying with Annabeth?"
"That depends. Did you have sex with her? Or any other girl?"
"No! No, I wouldn't do that."
"Okay. I believe you. You're grounded."
"What!" I exclaimed.
"I might be a chill mom, but I'm still a mom. You slept with your girlfriend, you didn't tell me your true whereabouts, and you seem to be hiding something."
I sighed. "Okay, but do you still like Annabeth?"
"Her? Oh, she's the child I never had."
"Mom, I'm right here!"
"Oh, I'm teasing. But I won't hold it against you. Your real dad and I were pretty rebellious too. We met in college, and I really fell for him. He turned out to be a jerk, though."
"I know, Mom. He left me, too."

Okay so I was thinking and I'm gonna say Sally had Percy when she was like nineteen. Even though this is an AU, the gods probably hit on people around college level or twenties. Sally is like 36 or something.
One more thing: if i wrote like a legit story-type thing would u guys read it?
