Ben theory 🗣️🗣️
What if the reason Ben wears the same shirt(s) day after day is because he didn't want to be a burden for his aunt and uncle. So he bought a shirt for seven days a week, because he didn't want to take up space in their household. He probably feels so guilty for what he did. And it doesn't help him feel better when his OWN FAMILY sends him away to live with other people. Imagine how hurt he must of felt. He wasn't in the right headspace, ever, so sending him away made him feel like a burden to everyone. So, he doesn't own much, whether it be clothes or something else.
