Macau looked ahead at the person sitting in front of him... he was twisting a napkin between his fingers nervously, he had something to say, and he would be going on his way... but it was growing harder and harder as the minutes ticked by...

But he should get over with it, his brother and his partner were waiting for him... they had a plane to catch the very next day... and things needed to be settled before he got on that plane and left to never be seen again.

Except that the person right in front of him, had no idea... not about his intention... not about any of his plans, despite that person being none other than his boyfriend.

His boyfriend - since the previous year - had been looking forward to their anniversary for days now, telling him that he had a surprise for him, and the fact that the guitar was sitting next to him - despite knowing full well that Porchay had trauma related to said guitar - meant that Porchay had gone above and beyond in preparation, it tore his heart that now he had to deliver the news to him, breaking both their hearts in the process.

He was selfish and he knew it... He was putting everyone and everything before Porchay... but it was his family... his future... and somehow Porchay didn't fit in it.

He had contemplated telling him to come along, to run with him, to start anew somewhere else with him - He knew full well how much his boyfriend was struggling with his older brother, He knew it would be a welcome escape - but something was stopping him, it didn't feel right to ask that of Porchay, it didn't feel like it would work like that, He knew for a fact that He and Porchay wouldn't last that long, He was not the one he wanted to run away into the sunset with... he was not the one for him...

Things had to end today... it was better for them to end today... better than a phone call from the airport a day later where Macau would tell Porchay that he was leaving... and not coming back.

"I am so happy to be with you... Happy anniversary, Love...", Chay said, a soft smile on his lips, a twinkle in his eyes...

Macau was pulled out of his reverie, He took a deep - bracing - breath and reached out to take one of Porchay's hands in his.

"I... I have something to talk to you about... it's... kind of a big deal..."

"Can't it wait till after dinner?", Porchay frowned, and Macau could see that the sun in the boy's eyes just got covered by the clouds of doubt.

"No... It's urgent... very urgent..."

Chay's burrows remained furrowed before he nodded and waited for his boyfriend to elaborate. Gone was the romantic mood that was set by Porchay, Macau could tell...

"Big Bro... and P'Pete are leaving..."

"Yeah, you told me that weeks ago... you talked to them about it, didn't you?"

It all started on a rather simple day, Gunshots were heard from Their Uncle's - Korn Theerapanyakun - Locked Study, for them to walk in to find both their father and their uncle dead, Their cousins and them had sat down... and Vegas - Macau's Older Brother - hating the place and the family and everything that reminded him of his father, decided to take his inheritance, and his boyfriend, and leave...

Vegas had talked to Macau about leaving Bangkok for good, taking a permanent home in London, and never coming again, Macau had promised to visit a lot... but then something happened that changed everything for all of them.

Macau had been trying to secretly leave, to have a reason to pack his bags and bid their life goodbye, before he had met Porchay, and before his father had died, but he had long given up that hope when he got no answer for any of his scholarship applications.

and then it was as if destiny was waiting to unfold at the right moment.

Macau was offered a scholarship for his master's degree, in one of the most prestigious universities in London, an offer to leave with his brother - his ticket out of Bangkok - to not part from his own small family ever again.

However, that came with a price... price he had been contemplating paying for a bit now... He had to break up with Porchay....

they had been in a relationship for the better part of a year now, and they had spent a long time being in each other's circles, the attraction was mutual.... but both would be lying if they didn't admit that they missed the spark...

Which was why Macau was sitting there...

"I am... leaving for London..."

Chay's eyes widened in surprise... but he didn't say a word, retreating his hand from Macau's grip sharply, before his hand folded into a tight fist.

"Oh!..."

"I... got offered a scholarship.... you..."

"Me? What about me?"

"I... I don't think we can be together anymore..."

Macau could see the second Porchay's emotions shifted from sadness to anger, could see the moment the blood started boiling in - now his ex-boyfriend.

"I would tell you to think about it, but I see you have come to a decision..."

Macau stumbled onto his words, he couldn't say anything with the storm in Porchay's eyes, with the anger in his clenched fists and the set of his jew.

Chay raised his hand to the waiter... before dropping a few bills for their drinks on the table taking his guitar and standing up.

Macau was flabbergasted by the way Chay was reacting, He tried to reach out to stop him... tried to utter any words but everything was failing him.

Chay took hold of his guitar and looked Macau in the eyes.

"Good Luck in your new life... I hope to never see or hear from you again."

With That Chay turned and walked out of the restaurant into the cold dark night.
