Cameron drove us to the hospital after Walter told him what he found out about us and the conditions we were living in.
As we walked inside, cold air hit my body, making me shiver. I've been in the hospital once for a college field trip. It looked creepy. Cameron went over to a desk lady and told her that we needed to be checked out. The woman smiled at us three and nodded.
Then a lady wearing a scrub led us to an elevator and pressed the number three button my brothers clung onto me as we began moving up. I wasn't scared though I've been in elevators at my school so my injuries won't get worse as I walk up the stairs.
She then led us to a room with three beds. Huh what are the odds of that? The lady told us to sit on the bed and we did.
She then began typing on her computer. "Hi, I'm doctor Betty. So I've heard that you three have gotten hurt, is that right?" She asked us, and I nodded. "Would you tell me how you got hurt?"
I shook my head and looked down at my shoes. "That's fine." She said, then continued to type on her computer. "What's their date of birth?" Betty asked Cameron.
"March 15 2010, September 25 2012, and January 4, 2013." He told her, and she typed it in her computer. She then left the room telling us that she'll be right back in with some other nurses.
"Gosh y'all grown." Cameron said, while giving us a small smile. I gave him a fake smile then looked at my brothers who gave the man no emotion.
He was about to say something else when there was a knock on the door then six nurses entered the room. Which made me kind of nervous. I don't think they needed that many nurses on that dummy doll back in the college field trip.
I guess Betty knew that we were nervous because she gave us a small smile. "Don't worry, they're just here to make sure your body is okay and that there are no injuries." She told us, I nodded then two nurses came over to me also wearing scrubs and a mask.
"Hi I'm Dr. May and this is Dr. Kyle I'm just gonna have a look at your body to see if there is anything we need to fix." She told me, I nodded and she then lifted up my shirt and gasped at the sight.
I looked down at my chest and saw a huge burn that my mom gave me from a steam iron because I forgot to do the laundry so for punishment she gave me that so I wouldn't forget to do it. But the burn wasn't the only mark that was on my chest. There were whip marks, bruises, and stab wounds.
"He's got a second degree burn on his chest that looks like from a steam iron." Dr. Kyle told Cameron, who looked worried. "Would you mind taking your pants off, don't worry the blanket will cover you." She told me, I then stripped out of my pants and shoes and socks but still in my boxers and they put a blanket over my boxers.
My legs were the same as my chest except there were less burns. There was a rope burn on my ankles that matched my wrists. "So how are you going to fix us?" I asked them, and Dr. Betty raised a brow.
"Well first we're gonna put some cream on your burns and then clean the stab wounds, and ice for your bruises." She said, and I nodded doesn't seem too bad. She gave me a pill and I swallowed it whole.
After an hour of fixing our body we were done. "Okay so the boys will need to change their bandages every day, and add ointment to it every 1-4 hours." She told Cameron who nodded. "Luckily the wounds weren't as deep as we thought so no stitches."
"Any questions?" She asked, and we shook our heads, "You guys are free to go call if you need anything." She told us, and we nodded.
We then walked out of the room. "Where do you live?" I asked Cameron. "I live in New York City just three hours away from here." He told me, I nodded and looked out the window.
My brothers haven't spoken a word the entire ride there even when Cameron asked them questions. I don't blame them, my parents would beat us if we even uttered a word, maybe that's what they thought Cameron would do to us.
Cameron then stopped at a huge house that had a staircase leading up to the front porch. There were railings around the porch and porch columns. And lots of windows.
We stared in awe. Cameron chuckled and led us inside. We were greeted by two staircases on either side of the room with a small table with a glass vase with some real flowers in it. The flooring was made of marble and when I looked up I saw a crystal chandelier staring back down at me.
Then Cameron let out a loud whistle that made us flinch from the loud noise. He apologized. We then heard loud footsteps and then we saw six boys and a woman coming down the staircase. When they saw me and my brothers they stopped moving and looked at us.
Noah and Milo hid behind me clutching onto the back of my shirt. "Is that them?" A boy in a white shirt and black jeans asked as he looked at us. "Yep, after eleven years our family is now complete." Cameron said, as he smiled at us.
"Why don't we introduce ourselves?" Cameron asked, and they nodded. "I'm Wyatt. I'm twenty-three years old and the oldest." He introduced himself, I gave him a fake smile. "I'm John. I'm twenty-two years old and I make music. If you're interested I can teach you guys how to make your own."
"I'm Luke. I'm eighteen years old and I do art." Luke introduced himself, and gave us a small wave. "Aiden and I'm seventeen and I'm a twin."
"Jayden and I'm a twin with this idiot." Jayden said, and I held back a laugh when I saw an offended look on Aiden's face.
"I'm Henry and I'm seventeen years old and I skateboard." He said, and I nodded. I saw some boys at my school skateboarding on the railings. "I'm Ethan and I'm fifteen years old." He said, and gave me a small smile.
"And I'm Grace and I'm married to this lucky man." She said, as she grabbed Cameron's bicep. Cameron chuckled and playfully rolled his eyes.
"Well I'm Eli and this is Noah and Milo." I introduced ourselves, and they smiled at us.
"We'd like to show you your rooms if you'd like." Grace said, with a bright smile. I nodded and followed them upstairs to a big hallway filled with doors.
She opened one of them and the room was huge. There was a bed that was laying on a bed frame with a carpet underneath it. A bow window with long gray curtains around it with a couch in front of it. And there was an ottoman across the room and a fireplace with a TV hanging above it. And a ceiling fan.
"I love it." I said, then looked at the new family members in my life. "C'mon Noah and Milo I'll show you your rooms." Cameron said, and my smile dropped.
"Wait, we have separate rooms?" I asked him, and he nodded. "Is it okay if we can add their beds here?" I asked Cameron, and he looked at Grace who nodded.
"Uh sure yeah no problem." He said, and I smiled. "Thanks." I thanked him, and he nodded. "Anything to make you happy." He said, then they left the room.
"You okay guys?" I asked Noah and Milo. They nodded and looked around the room. "Is this really ours?" Noah asked, his voice was a little raspy from not talking that much.
"Yeah I think so." I told him, and wrapped my arm around his shoulder, careful not touching his wounds.
"Welcome to our new home." I thought, and smiled at the room.
