Vol 1 Chapter 7, Late Night Message

Izuru POV:

The orientation ceremony was not that interesting as the long speeches of the school principal, vice principal, chief guest were boring. But there was one interesting person who caught my eyes.

And now, a few words from the student council president. The Ceremony Host said.

After getting announced a slender looking man with a little above average height went up to the podium. He remained still as he was observing us the 1st years. No one dared to even make a noise as some of the students were afraid of angering him. Not just because of his position as this schools current Student Council President but because of his aura. It seemed like he was exerting external pressure on the atmosphere of the gymnasium which made it hard for anyone to speak except us who were unaffected by it since this is nothing compared to that place and that person. Suddenly his eyes fall upon mine he seemed to have noticed me and the others unaffected by what was going on. He then displayed a small smirk on his face and broke eye contact with me.

Thank you for the introduction. I am Manabu Horikita. Newcomers, as a representative of the upperclassmen and your student council president, I extend a warm welcome to you all. As I am sure you aware, our school is known for its prestige and distinction on all fronts and boasts impeccable employment and college entry rates across the board, we take pride in this. In fact, its our school's number one priority. We all work together to uphold the standard of excellence. Now, you are a part of that too. We expect greatness from all of you. And we know you are capable. He finished his speech before once again stared at me.

Well he certainly is an interesting person no doubt about it. Afterwards we all met up with the others and we decided to exchange contacts. Kiyotaka told us to create a group chat and meet him at his dorm room at 6 pm. It is now 4pm and some of us decided to split up and explore the campus. Kurumi, Kirari and Yumeko went to check out the shops at the mall. Nagisa and Celestia went to the cafe together. Karma and Baku went to visit the school library. Tatsuya and the girl we met in front of the school Miyuki as well as some of there classmates went to the school cafe. So me, Kiyotaka and Akiyama were left alone. Akiyama decided to check out the dorms. I accompanied him before saying goodbyes to Kiyotaka.

As we were walking to the dorms Akiyama halted on his tracks.

Is anything wrong Akiyama? I asked him.

Hey Izuru, do you think this school is that lenient towards us? He replied with a counter question.

No, I don't think so there must be a catch behind the schools decision to give us a 100k private points. I replied to him with my honest answer.

Then why don't we investigate you and me just like that time. He said reminiscing about the time when he and I solved a murder mystery case that the police could not solve. Which happened just about a month ago.

We don't need to as Kiyotaka must have already solved it. So lets go to the dorms already. I said.

Come on you and Kiyotaka are the ones who always make important decision for the group why don't you me handle it then if you don't want to come along. He said to me with determination that he will do something for the group.

It is true that all of the major decisions are taken by either me or Kiyotaka mostly him. And it is also shocking that Akiyama the boy who was known in the whiteroom as the crybaby has grown up.
