On the other side, Tseng was on his way back from Nibelheim. He searched the whole village and not only. He even went in what remains of Banora and Gongaga. Nothing. He was starting to lose faith.

They were passing by the abandoned part of Midgar. Tseng watched the sighting as the car drove by. It was a prosperous place once where children were playing and youngsters were going on dates. The melancholy of those times was still haunting him.

While the Turk's eyes were moving from side to side, he noticed something. It was small but it was a movement.

"Stop the car!"

The driver complied quickly. Tseng ran out of the car and surveyed the surroundings.

"Leave," Tseng ordered knowing he would have to be all by himself.

"But boss-"

Tseng's cold gaze made the driver gulp and follow his orders.

Once left alone, Tseng grabbed his electric rod and walked down an alley. The buildings were half broken but some of them still looked like they could be used. Someone could live there if they wanted to if they didn't have any place to go.

Suddenly, he heard footsteps. He turned around and ran after the sound. The other person was quite fast but it led him to a back alley with only one way to get in.

While looking for his target, piles of rocks started to fall over him. Tseng looked up with wide eyes, preparing to be crushed under them. He tried to avoid most of the big pieces and get out and fortunately, he did make it. He had dust on his clothes and face but his body was fine.

While he was regaining his breathing, he heard the sound of footsteps again. He only had time to blink before he felt a breeze and metal against his skin.

"Well, well. Look who's visiting,"

Tseng knew that voice well. It's been too long since he last heard it. It wasn't a surprise that when the Turk turned around, he faced the same blue-eyed red-haired man that Eloise liked so much.

"Genesis. Glad to see you're alive. You have to come with me to Edge."

The redhead fighter raised an eyebrow, amazed by how straightforward was Tseng.

"And why would I come on my own to that filthy place?" He asked looking all so smug.

"Because Eloise is dying,"

Genesis' little smirk fell instantly. So much time had passed since he heard that name since someone reminded him about that girl. But some things can never be changed, like the way he became so excited knowing she was so close.

"That's impossible. Eloise is Hojo's most successful soldier. She's not easy to kill."

Tseng raised an eyebrow and watched the ex-SOLDIER turn his back to him.

"The Eloise you once knew is gone. She has been gone for a while now. She gave up on that life, on happiness...she is a shell of who you met." Tseng explained seeing how Genesis didn't seem to understand just how bad the whole situation was.

"She's an experiment. She can't die just because there is a disturbance in the Life Stream. I'm sure you noticed. It built a barrier so that no one could get out or get in." Genesis knew something was wrong with the planet.

"Why would anyone want to get out? Does it have anything to do with Eloise?"

"Eloise has nothing to do with it but it has everything to do with her," Genesis said and chuckled to himself. He was playing around with the Turk. Tseng didn't find it amusing at all mostly because he needed Genesis to come along.
