Xavier's P.O.V

As the days turned into weeks, the atmosphere at school grew increasingly tense. Callix's avoidance of me became more pronounced, his once warm demeanor replaced by a cold detachment that left me feeling adrift and alone. And as much as I longed to bridge the growing chasm between us, his walls seemed impenetrable, his heart guarded against my attempts at reconciliation. To make matters worse, Gavin had also begun to keep his distance, his guilt over our past interactions driving a wedge between us that seemed impossible to overcome. Despite my assurances that I harbored no ill will towards him, his sense of responsibility weighed heavily on his shoulders, pushing him further away with each passing day.

As I made my way to the cafeteria, my mind preoccupied with thoughts of the upcoming exams and the latest drama unfolding among my classmates, I encountered a sight that halted me in my tracks. A girl emerged from the Principal's office, her presence commanding attention with an aura of effortless grace and confidence.

"I've never seen her before," I mused to myself, curiosity piqued by her sudden appearance. "Is she new here?"

She was stunning, with flawless features that seemed to defy description. Her long black hair cascaded over her shoulders in waves, framing her face like a curtain of silk. Her lips painted a bold shade of red, accentuated the natural curve of her mouth, drawing the eye with their perfect shape. Her eyes, a mesmerizing shade of blue reminiscent of the ocean on a clear summer day, held a depth of emotion that seemed to pierce straight through to the soul.

Who was she? The question echoed in my mind as I watched her move with confidence and poise that belied her apparent newness to the school. There was something about her presence that commanded attention, an air of mystery and allure that left me spellbound. As she passed by, our eyes met for a fleeting moment, and in that instant, I felt a spark of recognition—an inexplicable connection that stirred something deep within me. But before I could dwell on it further, she disappeared into the crowded hallway, leaving me with a sense of wonder and intrigue that lingered long after she was gone.

In the cafeteria, I found Shiena, Nicole, and Jerick already seated at our usual table, engrossed in conversation. As I joined them, Shiena's gaze flickered towards me, her expression filled with curiosity.

"Hey, Xavier," she greeted me, her voice tinged with concern. "Is everything okay? I noticed Callix didn't sit with us today."

I sighed, the weight of our strained relationship settling heavily on my shoulders. "Yeah, everything's fine," I replied, trying to sound casual despite the knot of unease in my stomach. "Callix just... wanted to sit alone, I guess."

Nicole frowned, her brow furrowing in confusion. "But why? Did something happen between you two?"

I hesitated, unsure of how much to reveal. "It's... complicated," I admitted, feeling the weight of the unspoken tension between Callix and me. "We've been having some issues lately."

Shiena's eyes widened with concern. "I'm sorry to hear that, Xavier," she said softly, reaching out to place a reassuring hand on my arm. "If you ever need to talk about it, we're here for you."

I managed a weak smile, grateful for their support. "Thanks, Shiena. I appreciate it."

Jerick cleared his throat, eager to shift the focus away from the somber topic. "So, have you guys heard about the new girl?" he asked, trying to lighten the mood.

Shiena nodded eagerly, seizing on the change of subject. "Yeah, I saw her earlier. She's been the talk of the school ever since she arrived."

Nicole leaned in, her curiosity piqued. "What's she like? Do you know anything about her, Xavier?"
