3 years earlier...
My mum passes away from seizure, she's been having them frequently as well as sudden heart attacks, the doctors say she had hypertension. I plan and attend her funeral, the locals attend as well, I hear whispering and gossips about how she died because of me but I'm really unbothered about them. I inherit the house and I receive eight thousand dollars, they said she's being saving it up so she could send me to college. A week later, I'm getting ready to attend a party my new dealer Mike invited me to. It's the best time and place to unwind, i pop two happy pills before stepping out. I get to the house party and the music pulses through the crowded living room, a hypnotic beat that seems to match the rhythm of my heart. I scan the party, my eyes searching for a familiar face or a potential escape from my loneliness. The air is thick with the smell of smoke and beer, and the dim lights make it hard to focus. But then, i see her – Maddie, with piercing green eyes and low cut, laughing and spinning to the music on the makeshift dance floor.
I'm drawn to her like a magnet, my feet moving towards her without conscious thought. As i approach, a stranger intercepts me, offering a joint and a sly smile. "Hey, man, you look like you need to relax. Trust me, you need this." I take the blunt without hesitation. I take a hit, feeling the familiar rush of euphoria wash over me.
"Thanks, man," i say, exhaling slowly. "I needed that."
The stranger nods and moves on, leaving me to my thoughts. That's when i notice Maddie again, her eyes lock onto mine as she sways to the music. We collide, literally, as the crowd surges forward. "Whoa, sorry about that!" I exclaim, steadying her by the elbow. Maddie's laughter is like a melody. "No worries, I needed a dance partner anyway!"
As we move to the music, i feel an inexplicable connection to this stranger. We exchange stories, lies, and dreams, our words tumbling out in a frenzied dance of their own. Maddie speaks of her troubled past, of abusive relationships and family secrets. I share my own tale of woe, of my brother who had died saving me and a mother who had passed away recently. She sympathies with me but my emotions and feelings are numb.
"I'm running from my past," Maddie confesses, her eyes glinting with a hint of desperation.
"Me too," I reply, my voice barely audible over the music. "But I think we can escape together, for a little while at least."
We stare at each other lucidly, knowing we've both fallen for each other, waiting for who to make the first move and I slowly lean in, lips meet in a fleeting kiss, the world around us melting away. In that moment, we both know we've found something special , a bond forged in the fire of our shared addiction.
As the party rages on, we cling to each other, our love blossoming like a wildflower in the cracks of a broken sidewalk. We dance and laugh, our bodies swaying in perfect sync. But amidst the joy, a sinister presence lurks, watching us with cold calculation.
Jake, the party's host and my notorious drug dealer, has been observing us with interest. He sees something in us that he can exploit, a vulnerability that he can use to his advantage. As the night wears on, he makes his move, sidling up to us with a charming smile.
"Welcome to my party!," He turns to Maddie. "Maddieee! My beautiful ex, I see you've met Alex my boy." he says, his voice dripping with malice. "I see you're enjoying yourselves. Let me make it even more enjoyable."
He offers us a taste of his latest product, a potent cocktail of drugs that will set us ablaze on the moon. Maddie and I exchange a hesitant glance, i could read Maddie's gaze telling me not to accept it. But i nod, and Jake hands me the drugs with a satisfied smile. I persuade Maddie to pop some more with me.
As we indulge, the party around us begins to blur. The music grows louder, the lights more intense, and the shadows seem to writhe and twist like living things. Maddie and I are lost in our own world, a world of pleasure and pain, of love and despair.
"Let's get out of here," Maddie whispers, her voice husky and urgent. "I need some air."
I nod, and we stumble towards the door, our arms wrapped around each other. But as we reach the threshold, Jake's voice calls out, his words dripping with menace.
"Hey, lovebirds. Don't forget, I'm your guy!And I always deliver!."
Maddie and I exchange a nervous glance, but we know we will definitely be back for more of whatever it is Jake gave us, it was unlike anything we had ever taken. We're trapped in Jake's web of addiction and deceit and we have no intentions of going anywhere.
As we stumble into the night, the city lights blur around us, a kaleidoscope of colors and sounds. We know we're walking into danger as we stumble across the road with speeding cars moving across but all we see and feel are vibes and thrills.
We disappear into the darkness of an empty alley, kissing aggressively as we both slowly strip ourselves not giving a fuck if we're seen or not. I unhook her bra and gently caress her left nipple as I lick her right ear and use my other hand to play with her down there. She blows me for a while and I do the same, I lift her from the ground and she hook her legs around me. She whispers into my ears "Fuck me like it's my last night on earth." I insert and we have a crazy sex. And this my friends is how i met Maddie.
