After that night, his family hated me. They all hated me. They didn't even want Nathan & I together. Yes, several nights I broke down & cut myself. For that whole summer, I couldn't see him.

First day of school; I was a freshman. First time being in highschool. I was frightened. But yet, I got to see Nathan everyday at school now. He was a junior at the time. When his family found out I went to the highschool with him, they told the resource officer that they didn't want me seeing Nathan at all or even talking to him. So now, I couldn't even see him at school. I had to have my best friend sneak him notes for me during school hours. I couldn't speak to him on the bus because of his brother. The only time we could talk face to face was when the bus was waiting for the Jr. High to get out at 3pm, which was only 10 minutes. But I cherished every moment. While the bus driver rode the route, he would walk up to the front just so he could touch my arm. When Nathan's brother wouldn't ride in the afternoons, it was perfect. We got to sit across from each other, talk, and laugh our hearts out. The bus driver was always our side. She let us sneak and talk to each other when we wasn't supposed to.

I was forever grateful.
