Ch 24

Leo's POV
Leon had suddenly cancelled all his work for today and called for an emergency family meeting. He even left the party at Time's house early last night without information.

I sat on a chair around the table in the garden with my parents when he walked in, with another man behind him.

I gasped. I was sure the shock was evident on my face. After looking at my reaction, Leon turned to look at our parents. They were shocked too. Anyone would be.

"Pho, Mae, phi, I called you all here today because I had to tell you something." Leon says and looks behind at the man.

"Sawadee khun Pho, sawadee khun Mae, sawadee nong Leo." That's all he could say.

"Sawadee krub." I greeted back. I still couldn't believe it.

"Sawadee nong." "Sawadee." My parents greeted him.

They took the seats opposite to us.

"Leon, what's going on?" Mae asked. She wasn't able to make peace with the situation as well.

"Mae, I met P'Pob at the party last night." He turned to look at the older man's eyes. Then, continued, "We both had been in love with each other all this while. Whatever happened was unfortunate, but we want to start over, this time, more dedicatedly."

"That's right. We had had a miscommunication in the past. But we still love each other. And we want to give it another try. Will you give your permission, please?" P'Pob added.

"What's the need to even ask, dear? We don't have any problem with this at all. In fact, we are really happy that the two of you are finally happy," Mae said.

"Yeah, there is nothing more important than your happiness to us. I hope you stay together for a long time," Pho added.

Their replies made P'Pob and Leon smile. They turned to me and Leon said, "Phi, don't you have to say something?"

"I'm just shocked. But I'm even more happy that I can't find the right words. This is great. Now you don't have to be lonely and sad all the time," I replied.

"Phi! It wasn't that I was depressed all the time."

"You were," Mae replied to him. "Now, I just hope Leo finds someone too. I want both my kids to be happy."

My face fell immediately. How did this conservation even come back to me? Why can't they just stop talking about this? I loved Fiat, I still do. My love for him will never change no matter what happens.

"Mae, let's just focus on Leon's happiness right now. We can talk about me later," I replied.

"If you guys don't mind me asking, what happened to Fiat?"

Leon replied to him, "He had a car accident. Five years ago. He didn't make it."

"Where did you find his body?"

"The car was recovered but his body wasn't. It was like he completely disappeared."

"Or he didn't?"

"What do you mean?"

"There are chances Time could be Fiat."

"Phi, we thought the same when we first saw him. He isn't P'Fiat."

"Did he deny it?"

"Yeah."

"Did he tell you about his past?"

"His past? No."

"He told me he had an accident five years ago and lost all his memory. Fiat's accident also happened at the same time, right?"

"What? We didn't know that. That can't be just a coincidence!"

"Or maybe it is," Mae tried to not get our hopes up so we, especially me, don't get hurt even though the sparkle was evident in her eyes.

"Umm, but there are chances he is P'Fiat," Leon tried to reason with Mae. Then, he turned to P'Pob, not waiting for a reply from Mae, "What else did he tell you?"

"He told me he was searching for his past. War's great grandfather gave him the name Time to remind him to keep looking for his past."

There was silence. All eyes turned towards me. This was a sensitive topic for me. The idea that Time could be Fiat, that I could have my Fiat back gave me a little more life. I somehow brought myself to say something, "How do you even know him in the first place?"

"I got to know him through War. He had been in the same orphanage as me. He's like my younger brother. He always told me about his P'Time. There was a girl in his village, Alina. She had a boyfriend who was a bigshot. He got her pregnant but threatened her to abort it. So she had ran away. She had twins but died giving birth. War told me how this P'Time selflessly took on the responsibility of the kids. How he took the best care of someone else's kids. War would also help him sometimes, but it was Time who mainly took the responsibility of the kids. So they started calling him Pho. However, he didn't mention about Time's accident or memory loss. So when I first heard about it, I was shocked too. In fact, when I first met him at the orphanage I was very shocked to see him."

Wait, the kids weren't his. They weren't his children!

*phone rings*

Oh, what a perfect time for my secretary to call me. I roll my eyes internally at the name and excuse myself from the table. I step aside to talk on my phone while chatter continue in the table. I can't hear what they're talking about as I'm too focused on this phone call.

I deliberately added, "Okay, I'll bring the documents to you," after the call ended. I went back to the table and told them, "I have some important office work to do. I'll be back later."

"Okay. Drive safe." Mea sounds really worried when she says it. They all have worried expressions on their faces. Seems like I was their topic of discussion when I was on the phone call.

I took my car keys and office bag. After sitting in my car, I was really nervous. I made an excuse and came here, but where am I gonna go? The idea of Time being Fiat makes me want to meet him but what am I exactly going to say? I don't know. I don't know about that but I really want to see him now. So I make my way to his house.
