I looked in the body length mirror making sure I didn’t look stupid. Maybe I was overdoing it? I looked at my bright green skinny jeans, black suspenders hanging on my hips, my bright pink Sleeping With Sirens T shirt, that was under my black fitted hoodie. I changed my nose piercing to it's normal ring to a green diamond stud. It was really crystle. I don't care how much money you have you don't need a legit diamond nose ring. No thank you to that. Now for the rat nest that was my hair. Once that was done I grabbed my backpack and Ipod and ran down stairs. I grabbed a couple pieces of bacon off of my my plate eating them on the way too our garage. When I walked in to grab my helmet Jake walked in.
“Hey, I don't think you should taking your motorcycle today Lisa” I l looked back at him. WHAT?! No Mikey today? I shook my head. This boy was crazy if he thought I wasn't going to be taking my motorcycle.
“Why not? You know i’m careful Jake.” I stared at him waiting to the yawn surpass.
“Well,” he started “I also went to that school for my senior year of highschool and I know how the people work there. They’re already going to have a problem with the way you dress.” I stiffened. Was he going to tell me that I needed to change? I’m 18 now and I’ll follow whatever rules he wanted but I won't change who I am to fit in at a school. I know he’s just looking out for me, but I won't do that. Not even for him.
“Jake, I can handle myself and I’m only going to be there a year. People won't give a damn about what I wore when they won't even be seeing me.” I shrugged at him. He shook his head and sighed.
“I know you don't care what people think about you Lisa, but that doesn't mean that people aren’t going to care. Because you are new that's already going to get you a lot of attention that I know you’re not going to want.” I nodded in agreement. Attention is something i’m not amazing for.
“And the motorcycle will only add to that first impression and attention. So for a while I think you should stick to your car, okay?” sighed and placed my bright pink helmet back on it's stand and patted my motorcycle. I looked over to my black car. I guess it's just you and me for now. I thought to myself.
“Okay Jake. But only for a little while and I’m doing this so that you don’t have to worry about me.” I hugged my brother and prepared for the first day of my last year of high school. Only 239 more days to go.
*****************
I parked in in the Parking spot farthest away from her school where there were no other cars. I’m pretty healthy and I’m able to walk, I don't need to be super close to the school. Also I’ll be able to get out faster not having to deal with the traffic of the other students.
I turned off my car, just sitting there. You can’t skip your first day Lisa. You can do this. I took one more deep breathe and Got out of my car. I was here pretty early so there wasn’t a lot of people here yet. Thank god they didn’t make you wait outside and they just let you in. I got to the front of the school and looked at the huge sign next to it. “Raven’s Side Of Arts High School. GO RAVENS!” I murmured to myself. Hm, Ravens? I thought they stood for bad luck? I shrugged and continued to the office.
“Hello, may I help you?” The surprisingly young lady looked up from her screen. She couldn’t be more than 30.
“Oh yes, um I’m new to the school and I didn’t get a schedule in the mail or anything so I just figured you guys might have it in here for me? Oh and my locker information.” She smiled and nodded. Her name was Ashley Robin. She came back with a blue folder that had my name on it. Awesome, that meant I could check out my classes before the school was cluttered with other students.
I looked at my schedule;
1st Period: Piano Class - Klein. rm 105
2nd Period: AP Calc. - Moore rm. 204
