I abandoned Max mid-conversation, my instincts compelling me to chase after Elias as he swiftly walked away from the eatery.

"Elias!" I called out, but he ignored me, his pace quickening. I hesitated for a moment, unsure if I should pursue him, but my gut told me to follow.

I sprinted after him, my feet pounding the pavement, and managed to grab his right arm, halting his escape. "Hey!" I exclaimed, trying to get his attention.

Elias stopped in his tracks, his expression a mix of frustration and resignation. "Look, like you said, I have a lot on my plate already, so I'd like to mind my business now," he said gruffly.

His face was shrouded in darkness, a storm brewing in his eyes - those beautiful, piercing eyes that seemed to see right through me. His voice was low and menacing, sending a shiver down my spine.

"I...I apologize for today," I stammered, my words barely above a whisper. I paused, taking a deep breath before continuing, my heart racing with anticipation. "I didn't mean any of what I said."

The silence that followed was oppressive, as Elias simply watched me, his gaze piercing and unyielding. I grew increasingly uncomfortable under his watchful eyes, feeling like an insect under a microscope.

The silence stretched on, becoming increasingly unbearable, and I found myself rambling in a desperate attempt to fill the void.

"It...It was my dad calling. We've never had a good relationship...so...so when I saw his number, I...I panicked—" But before I could continue, Elias's lips came crashing down on mine, cutting off my words.

My eyes widened in shock as I felt his soft yet firm lips pressing against mine, commanding mine to open up and grant him entrance. The sudden kiss was like a jolt of electricity, sending my heart racing and my senses reeling.

I wrapped my arm around his neck, and then, with a willingness I couldn't explain, parted my lips. His tongue slid into my mouth, and he tangled his hands into my hair, pulling me closer. I was tingling from my head to my toes, the sensation like a spark of electricity coursing through my body. Elias tugged gently on my hair, his fingers twisting through the strands, before finally pulling away with a whisper.

"Shut up," he said softly, his breath caressing my lips. The command was gentle, but it sent a shiver down my spine.

I couldn't help but think that I preferred his first way of telling me to shut up - the one that left me breathless and wanting more. And now, as he traced a finger over my lips, I felt a surge of desire coursing through me.

"You have no idea how much I wanted to do that...and more," he whispered, his eyes burning with intensity, "from the first day I saw you dripping wet in front of my pool." The memory of that moment, and the way he'd watched me with an unreadable expression, came flooding back.

I felt utterly breathless, my heart racing, and a flutter in my stomach that I couldn't ignore. The sudden absence of Elias's warmth left me feeling bereft as he took a step back, his eyes never leaving mine.

"Come on," he said, his voice low and mysterious, "I want to show you something."

I raised my eyebrows, curiosity piqued, and Elias smiled, his eyes crinkling at the corners. "You'll see," he teased, his words dripping with promise, leaving me with no choice but to follow him.

The silver moon cast a glow over the deserted streets, its gentle light illuminating our path. The night air was crisp and cool, carrying the sweet scent of blooming flowers. Elias led me down the street, our footsteps echoing off the buildings as we walked for about five minutes. And then ended up in from of a church?
