I CHECK my phone again to see if Bale has replied to my message but I'm disappointed to see no reply. I had apologised to him this morning because I felt guilty for snapping at him like that yesterday but seeing him not replying to my message sucks. It's been three hours and I sent it at nine thirty.

I'm already dressed in a cream pull neck, a straight three-quarter black silk skirt with a pair of knee-length leather platform boots. The sky is still covered with grey clouds and it's a bit windy.

I hear a knock on my door and before I can tell the other person to come in, Astrid cracks the door open then widens it.

She's wearing a cream waist length trench coat that is buttoned to the top with a pair of black pencil trousers and black Prada boots. Her hair is held up in a top knot and her makeup is minimal.

She decided to skip school today despite mother's refusal because she wants to see my new home before I move in.

"Mum is asking if you're ready?" she asks, and I nod.

"Let me grab my coat then we can leave," I tell her, doing just that and we leave my room.

When we reach downstairs, granny is already waiting with her purse clutched in her hand.

"Where is Mum?" I ask, and she points upstairs.

"She went to grab something upstairs," she answers and I look down at my phone again but a sigh escapes my lips when there's no message from Bale.

"What's wrong?" Astrid asks.

"I think Bale is ignoring me," I reply and she snorts.

"What did you do?"

I turn to give her a baleful stare. "Are you saying that it's my fault?"

Unruffled by my ire, Astrid shrugs. "You must have said something because Bale can't ignore you. It will kill him. Did you atleast apologise before staking your demands?"

"I apologised!" I almost cry out, and Astrid bites back a laugh.

"What is happening?" Mum inquires.

"Nothing," I said gruffly. "Let's just go,"

"Astrid, what did you do?" Mum asks accusingly and I hear Astrid gasp, feeling offended.

"I did nothing!"

Mum offered to drive and as she follows the pin to the house, I nibble on my thumbnail, thinking of what else to say since Bale ignored my last message.

I'm taking my family to see the house. If you're not busy, you can drop by and see it as well. I'll send you the pin.

Before I send it, I look at the numerous emojis on my keyboard, debating which one to use but when I check my other messages, I never used any emoji. If I use one now, it will make me look desperate and I'm anything but that.
