Cream's Dark family

A dark light

The funeral was quiet. Cream sat down with tears in her eyes as it started. She could see her and Charmy's parents resting peacefully only a few feet away in their own boxes. She felt a hand rest on each of her shoulders, Mr. Sonic and Ms. Amy who had brought her. For the first time since she had known him, Mr. Sonic was constantly around. She looked into their eyes. She could see sadness in them, but there was something else too, something that twisted her up even more. The funeral presumed with sir Espio saying a few words about the two, Ms. Amy was next, then it was Ms. Blaze. Everyone had such nice words to say, why didn't it make her feel any better? Soon they moved out to the graveyard. They went to bury her parents, Charmy stood next to her crying. She couldn't, she was sad and tears were falling, but not like her brother. No she felt something else, what was this feeling? It began to rain over the group and they decided to move back inside. She looked around, she met eyes with so many, they all had the same look sadness and that same thing Sonic and Amy had. Mighty, Marine, Tails, Knuckles, even Wave the Swallow. So many people had shown up. Her parents were very loved after all, by everyone. She heard the group begin to talk. About her. What will happen to her, where she will go, who will take her in. Why didn't any of them bother to ask her. She understood she was only 9. But... it was still her life, her parents, she should get to choose. That feeling she had felt her began to rise again. She then felt a someone approach, someone who would have brought her so much fear before. But now she couldn't bring herself too.

"Hello little rabbit." Eggman said with a quiet voice.

Cream looked at him, she expect to see either his usually evil demeanor, or the same look as everyone else. Instead she saw the same sadness, but instead of that one thing she saw in everyone else, she saw understanding. She saw understanding in the most evil person she knows.

She saw Hu-bot, Cue-bot, and Sage behind him, the latter looking about to say something before Eggman gently put a hand out to silence her.

"Are you doing alright?" Asked the Super villian.

Cream looked down.

"Anwser me something young one, have you been able to spend time with them, your parents, alone? While we have been here, not while they were..." Eggman trailes off.

"No, Ms. Amy worried it might be bad for me." Cream said.

"Hm, I understand her concern but," Eggman took out an umbrella from behind him and gave it to the rabbit, "I believe you should. They are depriving you of something very important." He said standing up. "Grief." The human started to walk toward the main group.

Cream began to walked toward the door before she stopped. She turned to Eggman and asked him, "Dr. Eggman, what do I keep seeing I'm people's eyes. It's sadness and something else. You don't have it, what is it?"

He stopped and turned toward the young girl. "It's called pity, I don't have it, because I know just how much pity can hurt. Go on, take as much time as you need. I have a few words to exchange with the others." He turned and started to March toward the group.

Cream made her way out the doors and to the spot they just put her parents to rest. She was surprised to see a dark figure standing out there. Shadow stood at the Graves. She hadn't seen him around during the funeral itself except in the shadows, heh at least she could still make some jokes. She wanted to say something, but she just couldn't. She stared at the tombstones. That feeling started to rise again. She thought to what she had heard from Sonic and the police talking with Amy and Espio. They had been on a date, a happy time, they had only been married a few months. Her eyes began to tear up again and they feeling rose more. They group hated how different they were but were so in love. She couldn't remember the groups name. But what did it matter what they were, they were happy! They were her parents, "WHY DID IT HAVE TO BE THEM!" She couldn't hold it in anymore and screamed. She started to cry and scream, not anything in particular, just screaming. When she had finally calmed down she remembered about Mr. Shadow being there. "Oh, Mr. Shadow I'm so sorry I don't know what came over me." She began to apologize.

"Its called anger Cream," he said giving the girl a one armed hug, "You have nothing to apologize for."

He had the same look as doctor Eggman. A bit of sadness and understanding. She leaned into the hedgehog.

Shadow sighed and closed his eyes before speaking. "It's not easy to lose someone who meant everything to you. I know that all too well."

Cream stared at the ebony hedgehog. "You do don't you." She buried her face into the hedgehog's chest and cried, Shadow held her umbrella for them.

Cream wasn't sure how long they stayed like that before Rouge had found them. "Omg thank God she was with you Shadow, Egghead was the only one to know where she was and he's been chewing us out about how we've been handle the situation with Cream." She said as she approached.

Shadow raised and eybrow at that but a look said she'd fill him in on it later. The group moved back into the room, only to see the group arguing.

"I can't take both Cream and Charmy, I don't have the room." Espio said.

"Sonic is too busy on the move all the time." Tails commented.

"Angel Island isn't a good place for her, and let's be honest my Temper isn't exactly parent material." Knuckles pointed out.

"The pink hedgehog is too busy chasing Sonic all the time." Eggman explained.

"I have my duties as the princess of the Sol dimension and me and Silver take care of Marine." Her 'Aunt' Blaze said.

Cream remembered when that started. She had been at her house baking with her mother and Blaze, the boys were in the living room. The cookies had gotten done and she went to deliver some to the boys. "Here you go uncle Silver, me mom, and Aunt Blaze worked real hard on them!" She had said with such joy. She hadn't even realized what she called them at first. Truthfully she saw them as well as Sonic and Amy and the rest of their friends as Aunts and Uncles. The two seemed so happy about it that she just continued to call them it. She started to turn back into the conversation.

"Egghead can't for obvious reasons." Sonic said with a nod from Eggman.

The group was silent for a bit. Something would have to change if one of them would be taking Cream in. Why didn't they ask her?

"Hey Cream. What do you think?" She turned to Rouge. She saw both her and Shadow crouched down and looking at her. She looked down and thought for a bit. She looked up making her decision. She didn't know what possessed her to make this her decision but it was.

"I wanna go with Mr. Shadow and Ms. Rouge." She said. The group looked at her surprised and confused. "They understand how I feel, and they also made me feel involved when all of you never even asked me, EVEN EGGMAN ASKED! For now at least I want to go with them. If they'll let me." Cream finished.

Rouge was about to try and explain that they couldn't either, but they then heard, "OK, you can stay with us for now." Rouge turned to Shadow after his statement. The group looked ready to argue especially Amy. Shadow raised his hand. "We will house her, most of you are free to visit. We will take a break from G.U.N. and Rouge has club Rouge for the time being." The group fell silenced. Shadow nodded and took out and emerald. In a flash Cream's belongings had been brought to the group. "Say by for now Cream. You've had a long day and need some rest."

She turned to the group. "Bye for now everyone, feel free to visit! If that's alright?" She asked the dark duo.

The two shared and nod. With that Shadow raised his emerald. "Choas Control!" And just like that they were gone.
