in this generation, the government was unsatisfied with how more and more people were not finding, 'the one'. so, using an advanced technology,

he implanted chips into newborn babies from rich families that would activate when they turned 16. their hair will have a strand of their 'soulmates' favourite colour, and their initial will be on their neck for the rest of their life, as the chip was with them since birth, it slowly carved that initial out.

people call this.. the magnetic chip.

it magnetised two people together to create true love, and never has it failed once before. it finds the most trustable companion through collecting information stored in the chip that is connected to their brains, to what they love most, who is their type, and so on.

while some people call it..

the worst system to have ever landed on earth.

it ruins everything, you are forced to have early marriage, move in with someone whom you barely knew. then, you have a permanent tattoo and what if your soulmate's favourite colour is your least favourite colour?

they say that they were never good enough for the other.

or, they were too good for the other.

anything, to drag this system down. it scared seungmin, he was going to become 16 tomorrow, and now instead of doing his homework, he was laying in bed worrying about the outcomes of this. why was he a chaebol? what if it doesn't work out, he had been getting headaches and side effects of an electronic chip being apart of his body for 15+ years.

what if all of that was for nothing?

years of headaches, stomach aches, fainting, shocks, pressure on the arm, feeling something burning your neck as the initial slowly gets carved out, hair falling. he felt like he should go through so much pain to find his one and only.

but he couldn't do anything about it.

why?

you'd get executed if you don't get with you loved one. or, if you're a chaebol, and important figure like him, you'd go through a painful surgery without any anaesthetic to remove the chip. and you'd never feel anything ever again. not even sadness, anger,

you'd be emotionless.

so, people never dared to fight back.

but of course, this system had good sides too.

people intertwining hands and walking across the street with each other's initial's carved into their neck, and obvious chunk of hair being a different colour, their ears and cheeks flushed red as the other made their moves. it was everything seungmin, a rom-com lover could ever want.

yet, all the cons of this 'magnetic chip' was starting to scare him a little.

but, you will never know.

are you going to be one of the lucky ones?
