Wednesday (part 3)

          It was after school on a Wednesday, everyone was walking home or getting picked up. Gianna walked home, a few girls in her class walked with her because their houses were the same way. Gianna was only about halfway home when she noticed who was walking behind her, about 50 feet back. It was Julia, but Gianna pretended she hadn't seen her. She tried to focus on herself and her friends but she kept wondering if this girl lived near her.
        Her friends had one by one, said their goodbyes and turned down their streets, leaving just Gianna walking to her own house, and of course, Julia walking behind her. She had come to the start of her drive way, she started walking up it and saw Julia keep walking, to a house very near hers. They were neighbors.
         Gianna made it to the door and pushed it open, stepping into the hallway and hanging up her bag and pulling off her shoes. She heard talking and laughing coming from the kitchen, "mum must have friends over" she thought walking down the hall into the kitchen. "hi sweetie! These are our new neighbors, Mr and Mrs. Williams!" her mother told her with a smile, glad to have made some new friends. "uh hi I'm Gianna, nice to meet you" she managed to get out, they were Julia's parents (if you hadn't caught on).
        "nice to meet you too hun, you know I have a daughter just your age! And I'm sure she would love a friend at her new school and all, see she seems a bit weird, but we all are aren't we?" Mrs. Williams replied, she seemed like a talker. Gianna nodded with a smile, trying not to be rude. She turned to her mother, "when's dad getting home?" she asked.  "not until later hun,  he's out to some dinner tonight" her mother replied, before going back to talking to her new friends. Gianna excused herself to go upstairs and change into something more comfortable, a pair of jeans and a tight T-shirt with little flowers embroidered on the front. She headed back downstairs, ready to head out to the barn to feed the animals before dinner. She came to the bottom of the stairs and saw her. Sitting at the dining room table. It was Julia Williams.
        "hey honey this is Julia, why don't you sit down and talk for awhile?" her mother asked, all eyes were on Gianna as she shook her head saying, "I got to feed the horses mum sorry" she tried to get to the door, but her mother was too fast, "oh why don't you take Julia here with you? I'm sure us old folks are boring her!" she said, sharing a laugh with Mr. and Mrs. Williams. "uh yeah sure," Gianna said, trying to keep her face from burning up. Julia got up from her chair, basically towering over Gianna as she went to slip her shoes on. They both headed outside silently as they went on the walk behind the house out to where the barn and the pastures were.
          "sorry this doesn't take too long" Gianna said, needing to say something to fill the heavy silence. "its ok i was bored in there anyways" Julia said with a shrug of her shoulders. Once they had made it into the barn Gianna went to get water and food for the horses, filling up a bucket with the hose and making trips to the horses trough where the water was and back. Julia was standing by the stalls, petting one of the horses who was being especially friendly. Gianna had a very full bucket in hand, rushing, trying to not make this girl stand in the barn for too long, when it unsurprisingly splashed up at her, soaking her shirt. "oh come on" Gianna sighed, although it was spring it still got rather cold later in the day, and she was freezing. "oh here let me help!" Julia said, pulling off her sweatshirt and hading it to Gianna. "take the shirt off and just wear the sweatshirt it'll be warmer that way." she told her making Giannas heart pound, she knew she didn't mean it like THAT but she just told her to take her shirt off...
         Gianna however pulled off her shirt and pulled on Julia's sweatshirt instead, thanking her with a smile.
        Gianna continued to bring water back and forth, filling up the horses water enough then grabbing the bag of food for them and poured it into another trough. When she finished she turned to Julia and said, "that's it wanna head back up?" Julia stepped closer, julia had to be at least 7 inches taller than her, and she was awfully close.... "mm not yet... " Julia said, backing Gianna up into the outside wall of the horse stalls. She leaned her arm over Gianna on the wall and placed a hand on her waist.       After her mom had left the two girls looked at each other, before Julia said, "why don't I stay the night hm? Finish what I started?" Gianna looked shocked, "sure I'll... Ask my mom at dinner... " she said as they began the walk back up to the house.
