(This is through the eyes of Makya (currently 15 years old) a couple 3 decades after Reta's arrival in orbit and 5 years after his reincarnation)

(Yeah umm Reta got forgotten by the elders in orbit 😶) (skill issue)

————꧁᪣~❁~᪣꧂————

As I awake from the poor excuse of a mattress I look around at the empty room around me. I recall the same dream ive had for the past ten years. Having the mind of a dead colonel means that most people underestimate me, it makes it easier to do my job. Resh makes me take care of people he wants me to get rid of, and I turn them into the slaves that he desires.

There was something that must've woken me up, some grueling noise that combatted the beautiful sound of the silence in the eye of the storm. It was the sound of a guitar, something that I had not heard of since Reta's death.

The tune was something new, it reminded me of a ballad that the soldiers would sing in the mess hall of the wasteland's barracks. The strums of the instrument echoed where sound never reached, yet it had a certain ring to it. It was something worth exploring in my eyes, part of me was curious for whoever was playing the wretched tune, yet the other part of me knew that I needed to get rid of them before father saw them.

As I stand up from the mattress on the floor I couldn't help but look around my room. The area surrounding me had a dark wallpaper, it was the only thing that had meaning in this room, it wasn't impressive, the only thing in here besides my bed was my collection of books in a box where my clothing hung to seem as if it was a pair of boots. These books held my journeys and whatever my twisted mind wanted to write down. Nonetheless, my favorite part of my empty large room was the balcony. It had any life within this dump and something to look forward to in this world.

As I draw closer to the doors separating me from the outside, the music gets louder and louder. It made me question how close this fool was playing, but as I heard them play, I heard someone singing as well. For now it wasn't anything coherent to my deer-like ears, but as I open my balcony doors, the voice was more pronounced.

The figure was farther than I thought, enough to be seen without having to look downwards yet not too far to having to go to the ground level of the grey sand to hear them clearly. The voice was young, someone no more in their early twenties, and this is what they sang.

"And so we sing of Eden,
A tune so loud and bright,
From here to there we shout and sing,
Without and end in sight.

No near or far or small or large,
A soldier's wish so yearning,
To once be with the one he's to,
With death, only a parting.

Yet in the storm across the sea,
Blessings were a-parted,
not in a time or in a place,
Where wishes were all hearted.

So in the end when time was right,
No candle had ever burned,
So bright in one who wished no more,
For evil once more.

And so they sang of Eden,
The tune that never stopped,
I wonder how, and where, and when,
It'd ever sing for us?"

As I listened to the bard and their musical tunes, I couldn't help but listen as they repeated the same song again and again. This was no song, it was a story, yet about who?

My brothers never lived frivolous tales, and father is an enemy to all constellations. Who could this really be? Some stranger?

It was then when I took a further look into the person's singing was when I heard who was really being sung about...

"To once be with the one he's to..."

"With death... only a parting"

"Vuta..."

I immediately rush back into my room and make a beeline for my spear. I needed to end her bloodline once and for all, if Reta was to ever awaken once again I needed him to have nothing so I could be in charge, so I can live!

However... she did nothing wrong. It'd be another unnecessary death on Eden's door. I look back through my window and examine the description of the figure.

They wore clothing of elders and they spoke in tongue. It was obvious, this wasn't know lucky go skykid with a death wish.. this was a messenger sent by the elders, and I knew that Vuta had wished for that messenger to send that message.

And since the blood of Reta didn't seem enough, it was time to send a message back.
