Porchay has a crisped smile. Not one person will be able to doubt its sincerity but he still has this expression translating how uncomfortable they are making him feel. Teachers are welcoming him, or more like, they are trying to not show how much they wonder about his clothes. He knows it by heart and when they talk, there is no mystery anymore.
“Kids here are quite violent…” An old woman explains. “Don’t hesitate in asking for help from one of us around, if we are in our classes.”
“You need to make them respect you.” Another man says.
“Yes, you definitely will need to IMPOSE your authority on them.” Another teacher says.
Porchay nods and smiles politely. They aren’t wrong, or right, but painting such a canvas of their students for the first day isn’t helpful at all.
“Some are quite stupid too.” A woman dares to say and Porchay’s heart is feeling unwell. Talking this way about people they should help to grow, they should help to be educated to grow as the best version of themselves. This isn’t the definition of it.
“They are a little hard but they aren’t that bad.” Kimhan tells him after everyone walks away. He only waited, sitting on a chair for the whole time, and Porchay didn’t think that he would even talk to him.
