Multiple weeks had passed since the Prince had met Quackity—Las Nevadas's crown Prince—and he had become a lot more comfortable with him.

Wilbur had actually gotten his first taste of alcohol, now a glass of wine had become a daily occurrence. Cigarette buds and empty liquor bottles were the main things in the bin in his bedroom, and the room itself had a constant aroma of tobacco and alcohol. The servants and maids weren't too happy about it.

Old rumors were beginning to become increasingly more noticeable. Rumors about the so-called great King himself. And of Wilbur. But the Prince couldn't be bothered to care, as long as he had Quackity by his side, he would be fine.

As long as he had Quackity by his side, he would be okay.

He could be okay.

He was fine.

Fine?

"Wilbur!" Quackity shook his shoulder, both the action and his voice sounded so distant to Wilbur. The words from one of the maids still played in his head.

"Yeah, I heard he's the product of an affair. The cursed Prince is an affair child, could you imagine the backlash King Philza would face?"

Affair child.

Affair.

Affair?

Wilbur grasped onto Quackity's hands quickly as the ravenette placed them on both sides of his head. "I'm here! I'm okay! I'm fine!" He said quickly, almost startling the other Prince. "I'm fine-" Wilbur choked out, his voice hoarse and uneven.

"You're obviously not fine, Wilbur. This is the third time you have blanked out on me today, it's almost worse than the zone-outs. What is going on with you, what's happening in that mind of yours?" Quackity's tone was almost pleading. Begging Wilbur to help him understand why he always seemed to slip from reality or break down.

"Quackity, I...the rumors..." He breathed out shakily, wrapping his fingers around his hands in an attempt to calm himself further.

Quackity kept his hands on Wilbur's face, but he allowed Wilbur to hold onto them. Anything that would comfort the brunette. "What rumors? Wilbur, what rumors?" He asked, his voice firm but still gentle. "Look at me, what rumors?"

"That- that I'm cursed because of my Father...because my Mother isn't the Queen...but instead- because I'm an affair child." A silent tear rolled down his face.

Quackity gently wiped the tears off of his cheek with his thumb. "Even if that's true, that doesn't mean there is anything wrong with you or that you're any less of a person. If anything, you can use this against the King."

"I can...?" Wilbur sat up straighter, as if realising the power he now had. "I can!" He moved his hands from Quackity's to the man's face, leaning closer to him. "You're a fuckin' genius, Q!" He jumped up and rushed over to his closet, throwing it open. "It'll be a grand 'ol time!" He spun around to face a bewildered golden-winged Prince.

"Wilbur, I think you should calm dow—"

"Calm down?" Wilbur shook his head hurriedly. "Why should I calm down! This is perfect! I finally have my golden ticket! I finally have what I need!" He laughed, holding his arms out as if welcoming someone into a dramatic hug. "This is my sunrise! This is my dawn!" He took a small step closer to Quackity who was now standing up, his eyes holding a strange uncertainty. "This is what I've been waiting for!"

"Wilbur, Wilbur..." Quackity carefully walked over to him. "You need to think about this first, you can't rush into it." He gently placed his hand on the taller's shoulder, then he broke.

Wilbur sunk down into sobs, clinging onto Quackity with a desperate grasp as his knees buckled. The shorter Prince struggled against his weight for a moment until he finally managed to get him over to the bed, making him sit down. Quackity sat down next to him, watching as the brunette immediately laid down and rested his head in his lap, his arms tightly wrapped around Quackity's waist. "I'm sorry..." He choked out.

"You have nothing to apologise for, just deep breaths. It's gonna be okay." Quackity gently ran his fingers through his hair, his other hand stroking the silky feathers of his wings. "You're doing so well, Wilbur...deep breaths." He murmured soothingly.

Eventually Quackity managed to calm Wilbur down again, just whispering soothing things to him and holding him close. "I feel like a failure, Quackity." The brunette sighed. "I could be so much, do so much, but I don't. I'm a coward. I'm a goddamn coward." He began to tear up again.

"You're not a coward, you've been put through hell. Your Father has put lies into your head, manipulated you." Quackity pulled Wilbur closer to him. "He is nothing but scum...you deserve so much better." He spoke quietly.

Wilbur wasn't convinced. How could he be better than someone when he was related to them? He was Philza's son, there was no changing that. The same genetics and the same blood.

Blood.
