Scar's POV
"Hi G!" I said as I walked into the kitchen and saw Grian making breakfast. My soulmate turned and smiled at me saying, "Hi Scar! I made breakfaaaast!" I slid up behind him, peering over his shoulder at the pancakes that he was holding on their plate. "Awww, you remembered my favorite thing! Ooooooo! Those smell good!" I said, hugging Grain from behind. He laughed and said, "alright come on," before leading me to the couch, where we just sat and ate in silence for a while. Finally, I was done eating. I threw my arms around Grian in a tight hug before letting go and saying, "That was delicious and amazing! I'll be right back, I need to go feed the Jellies"
Grian grinned and said with a small laugh, "Alright, be back soon" I smiled at him, running to the door. I went out and paused at the entrance of the panda sanctuary, grabbing the bamboo and opening the gate. All at once, the giant panda/cats came running at me, bounding as happily as new-born cubs. I laughed and started to give each of them a piece of bamboo. They all happily held it in their paws, munching on the strong green stalks as though they hadn't eaten in days even though I had fed them the night before. I smiled at them as they finished their bamboo and started to beg with a sound that was somewhere between a meow and whine.
I sat with the pandas for a while, scratching the heads of the ones that came up to me, but mostly just watching them wander and play. Finally I stood up, realizing it had been a while and Grian had said, "be back soon."
"Ima go back inside now, but I'll come back out around mid-day, ok Jellies?" I announced to the pandas before heading to the gate and back into the cake fort. Grian wasn't on the couch anymore. I frowned and looked around.
"Grian?" I called. I listened for a response. None came. I started to get worried. Then, I heard muffled sobs coming from the top of the tower. I raced up to the top floor faster than I had ever run.
"G? You up here?" I asked, worried. As I got to the top floor my heart simultaneously beat faster with shock and broke into a million pieces. Grian was sitting on the floor in the center of the room, but he wasn't himself. While the same, short, blonde haired boy was there, he also had great purple wings extending from his back and rapping around him. He also had smaller ones where his ears should be. His eyes (or what I could see of them) were no longer obsidian black, but completely purple, with some kind of slightly darker purple square where the iris and pupil should be. He had his hands pressed to his head and his eyes were squinted slightly, as though he was trying to close them. He was crying, tears rolling down his cheeks from his squinted eyes and soft sobs coming from his mouth.
I ran towards him immediately, gathering him up in my arms, although that proved to be a slightly hard task as Grian's wings made him twice as large as he was originally, but he wasn't that tall to begin with, so it wasn't terrible. In the circle of my arms, I felt Grian shiver slightly then lean into me, resting his head on my chest. His face softened a bit and he stopped crying, although his eyes were still weird and purple. He wrapped his new, purple wings around us, holding me close and wrapping his arms around my neck. I smiled down at him as he burried his head in my chest.
At the exact wrong time, I heard a voice coming from the entrance to the room. A voice that I despised very much. "Hey Grian! Is Scar around- wait, Grian?" BigB said, making my entire body clench up. Grian must have felt it because he spoke for the first time since I found him, although his normally cheery voice had some kind of double layer to it that I didn't like. "Just a second B, I'll be with you in a second."
